Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was outstanding, just what I needed. Hotel is beautiful and new. My first "W" stay, and I'll be a patron for life! more

The Hotel Washington needed a face lift. The W Washington is definitely five steps-up from what the Hotel Washington used to look like. However, it's a major scene. If that's your thing, then great. However, if you're looking for a relaxing hotel, this isn't the place... especially on Saturday nights when the line to get into the rooftop is LONG.... more

Overall I had a good stay at the W DC. We took the train in and it was a pretty easy trip on the Red subway line over to the hotel (4 block walk from the Union Center Stop). The Acura service will not take you to and from the train station for some reason, but the subway was fairly... more

Stayed one night for business in October. May be next to the Willard, but feels a world apart. Modern design with colonial notes (mock-candle stick lights, wigged shadow decorations), thumping music, and a roped elevator to the rooftop bar. There was a very well-dressed crowd who seemed to be loving it at least. Still, it is an excellent location for... more

The positives: (1) a great location; (2) POV and the bar/lobby lounge are great places for a light meal and/or cocktail, and; (3) the service was excellent from every staff member that I encountered. The negative: simply way too small of a room at way too great of a price. A "Fabulous" room is only 280-318 sq. ft - compare... more

I originally stayed here in Aug 2009. Chose the W strictly because of the location and the alluring roof top terrace. The first visit was a disaster but I will not write about that one since I did complain to management and was offered a complimentary weekend in order to give them another chance. I thought that was very nice... more

We settled on the W for an annversary trip. It is located in the greatest part of town, the monument is out the front door, less than a mile from Smithsonian, great restaurants. (Check out Zaytinya for mediterranean tapas). We arrived and checked in to a Fabulous room and were slightly disappointed with the view until the bellhop pointed out... more

Many rooms do not have outside views; If keeping the curtains closed on your room isn't an issue then great but if not you should call rather than book online and ensure you get a view. Room was well designed and comfortable, note that with the curtains closed all the time, it was an inward focused experience that immediately caused... more

A last minute trip on government business and was shocked to even get a room in the city especially at the government rate. I was there just before their grand re-opening so there was a lot going on. Service from the front desk was very efficient and friendly. Cool decor in the lobby and the rooms (think IKEA). I didn't... more
