The location is fantastic! You can’t beat it. It’s on a beautiful, tree-lined street near DuPont Circle. Just around the corner within an easy walking distance are several wonderful restaurants: Bistro du Coin, La Tomate, Bistro Bistro, Pizzeria Paradiso and a Starbucks, of course. We had great dinners at all these restaurants and also a nice breakfast at the Café... More

My first comment: if you stay at Ivy Mansion make sure you know its street address! We didn't, and when we arrived at night we had awful trouble finding the B&B because we didn't have an exact address for the bus/tax driver to enter into his GPS. We had the address from the website, which is a corner, but the... More

First Comment: Thanks for the 5-star review! And thanks for the constructive feedback. In my haste to return to my hometown to respond to a family emergency, I neglected to include the inn's address in my welcome email to this guest--only the most important piece of information! I sincerely apologize for the confusion. As for the finishing touches, well your... More

Dana was very kind & accommodating. She has a lovely place and knows her city. Great location and one of the best areas for dining in DC. One of the best spots is the French "Bistro du Coin"... literally a block away. Great atmosphere, cafe style, great menu, great desserts, reasonable.

I stayed in the Ivy Mansion from January - March 2011, after returning from a foreign service posting abroad. The room I rented fell within the limit of the Home Service Transfer Allowance that I received upon my return to Washington, and negotiating payment with Dana, the proprietor, was a breeze. In addition, Dana’s bookkeeper provided me with timely receipts... More

My wife and I stayed at the apartment for five nights. It was clean and comfortable and felt like a second home. Dana was extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and attractions. Very convenient to the Metro, great restaurants, and upscale Connecticut Ave. shops such as the Kid's Closet. Located on a quiet, residential street one block from the Phillips Collection, an... Opted for this instead of hotel when I came to DC on business. What a find! Hostess was awesome and could come and go as I pleased. So close to metro, shops and restraurants (be sure to check out Teaism and their special salty oat cookies right around the corner). Place was immaculate, beds super comfortable with extra pillows and... More

Couldn't find a more gracious host and idyllic setting. The rooms are great and so close to everything. I'll be back.

Our family (2 parents + kids aged 11 and 14) stayed in the garden apartment for four nights over Columbus Day weekend. What a terrific find this was: a lovely in-town neighborhood (tree-lined streets) just around the corner from Dupont Circle and its Metro. Dana met us when we arrived (hungry!), and supplied advice on wonderful eating spots all weekend... More

First off DC was great!! our host/owner Dana was awesome!, she went out of her way to check on us to make sure we were comfortable and was a great wealth of knowledge about the local area. We stayed in the basement apartment. It was plenty big for our family of 4. My teenage daughter loved the futon alcove near... More
