In D.C. for conference at Convention Center, an easy 10-15 minute walk from welcoming B&B in great location. 30 minute walk to the Mall. Restaurants around the corner. Great breakfasts with conversation and tips with other guests. Beautifully appointed house. Jackie and Charles charming hosts. Really felt like home for the week that I was there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aaron Shipman B&B. My husband, and 14 and 15 year old daughters and I were on our first sightseeing trip to DC. We stayed on the second floor, my husband and I stayed in nice size room with a queen size bed, our daughters in a much smaller room with a full size... More

I recently completed a stay this great B&B. This is a private home B&B; a little different than others I have stayed at in the city-- the owners, Charles and Jackie live here. They were very welcoming and offered lots of help and advise about their neighborhood, traveling around the city and excellent breakfast conversation. The home was decorated for... More

It was a beautiful house with a beautiful backyard. While I enjoyed our stay, I cannot give it the excellent ratings that I read prior to booking. The hide-a-bed sagged terribly. This was no problem for my small granddaughter, but don't think it would be comfy for an adult. My bed was fine. The location was fine and we too... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Aaron Shipman House, Bed and Breakfast, in Washington DC in April of this year. The home is beautiful, about 100 years old, with tastefully appointed & comfortable rooms. The hosts, Charles and Jackie, provide a wonderful breakfast each morning which is enjoyed in the dining room with other guests. The location of the... More

We traveled to DC from Australia and picked the Aaron Shipman B&B from the website. We always stay in B&B's when we travel, but find city B&B's hard to judge from the Internet. The location always seems to make such a difference. We were truly impressed with the Aaron Shipman House. The home is just lovely, filled with antiques and... More

Convienient comfortable stay with the owners of this very pretty home. B&B's are meant to give you a homey feeling, but the owners here really make you welcome. Reasonable rates, good breakfast, easy to get to everything. Will stay again Mark

Stayed at the Aaron Shipman House while attenending a confrerence a the new Washington convention center. I was able to walk to the convention center. Over the weekend, I wanted to sightsee some of the Smithsonian museumes, and the monuments. A bus on the corner from the home brought me to the sights in less than 10 minutes! Restaurants, and... We had our wedding ceremony in their beautiful garden and patio. Our families stayed in the house for the weekend and everyone said their stay was a pure delight. Our moms enjoyed breakfast and wine on the veranda overlooking the garden each night. The hosts were superb - especially since they try to limit the number of weddings and commitment... More

My daughter and I attended a business conference in Washington DC in June of 2002. The corporate hotel the function was held at, charged $160.00 U.S per night for a standard hotel room. We booked an "English apartment" at the Aaron Shipman House at 1310 Q Street NW, Washington DC, just 10 blocks North of the Whitehouse. This full apartment... More
