I stayed here for 3 nights on my own and I felt very safe and at home. The place was clean but perhaps a bit tired looking in places. To be expected I suppose for such a busy B&B. The location is excellent though. Just a 15 minute walk to the white house and the mall and short bus journey... More

We felt lucky indeed to have chosen to stay at the Aaron Shipman B&B. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a king bed and a sitting area. The bathroom was a little small. We enjoyed their beautifully restored home and although it was too cool for us to use, the outdoor space looked inviting. Breakfasts were served "family style"... More

Awesome house and super comfortable bed! Highly recommended.

Beautiful older home about 25 minute walk from the Mall. Comfortable room with full breakfast. What made our stay most memorable were the owners Charles and Jackie and the sit down breakfast with the other guests. Charming hosts and interesting conversationalists.

What a wonderful host and hostess! The home is so large and welcoming. We had fairly packed plans exploring DC while in town, but the living room was so inviting with a fireplace and fresh cookies and candy strewn about. The breakfast every morning was delicious. I've never stayed at a B&B where all were required to eat together at... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and we had a fabulous time. The whole home is beautiful, inside and out. Our room (#4) was large, with a king size bed and a fireplace. The bathroom is quite small, but the shower worked very well. The owners are the reason this place is such a great find--we had... More

Room was lovely, a bit small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a wonderful surprise and it is a delicious feast! The common rooms are stunning showing real old-fashioned elegant charm. The owners and the staff are warm and friendly, very helpful and they run the b and b beautifully. 14th street and P street --one block away-- are... More

I live in Central American and travel to DC every three months on average. I have always stayed at the Aaron Shipman House unless it's fully booked. It has all the comforts of a beautiful, well-run home: lovely decor, great comfort, and delicious breakfasts. The rooms are scrupulously clean, beautiful, and have very comfortable mattresses. The hosts are genuinely hospitable... More

Room was lovely and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a delicious feast! The common rooms are stunning. Real old-fashioned elegant charm. The staff are warm and friendly, very helpful (they even gave me a fare-card to use on the bus), and they run the b and b beautifully. (The owners were out of town, so we did not get... More

My wife and I stayed at the Aaron shipman House during the inauguration. Jackie and Charles were welcoming, warm and very informative. Kinda like staying the part of your family you like. They guided us to several great restaurants and jazz venues during our stay. The neighborhood was very family friendly and central to points of interest in DC.
