We live in the Metro area and do "staycations" in DC several times a year... our first time at St. Regis but won't be the last. European charm (lobby, reception desk, décor), but up to date amenities. Granted, we got an upgraded room but it was certainly that. Perfectly appointed, pristine bathroom (a must for us).... service impeccable--- warmly greeted... More

We stayed in the St Regis for a first time visit to Washington and couldn't have found a better place. Its a very comfortable, old fashioned sort of place (they even serve an Old Fashioned in the bar) very close to the sights, in walking distance to the White House, most of the big museums, Washington & Lincoln monuments etc.... This is a beautiful hotel. I've stayed here several times on business. It is very quiet and the rooms are nicely appointed. That said, I really struggled to get the room cool for sleeping--the thermostat never moved below 68 which is just too warm for for my taste. Also, I wish they served coffee in the lobby. Would be easy... More

I just spent two nights here this week on business and I was very impressed with the staff , the accommodations and the public areas of this hotel. I attended a meeting in one of their conference rooms and despite the busyness of the hotel it was very comfortable and the catering in the room was excellent. I ordered room... More

Really, you can't beat the location. Worth it for that alone. Add in the history and the spacious well maintained rooms and the St Regis is a winner. However, what stops it from being a 5 rating for me is the service, it was inattentive and very cold. The staffed performed their jobs OK but a real lack of friendliness... More

Everything is right about this hotel. The rooms are superior, the location is hard to beat and the ambiance is lovely, but it stands out most for its people. I have stayed here a half dozen times over the last three or four years. That hardly makes me a regular, yet I am treated each time as though I am... More

After a so-so visit in June 2014 I thought I would give this hotel another try. What a mistake! Internet was down in the entire property. restaurant was closed for the weekend since it was slow. No turndown service. A phone I'm my room was broken. Several of the tv stations listed on the printed and on-screen guides were wrong... More

My wife and I stayed at the St. Regis for a get-away weekend in DC. The hotel was great and the room was very quiet. However, they don't provide an in-room coffee maker (you can request one, however). For a top-of-the-line hotel, I would expect this to be a basic accommodation. Heck, every Hampton Inn and Best Western has a... More

Overall a nice hotel the service was consistently good and it's a great location. The rooms themselves seemed big but a little bit tired. They were not able to accommodate us with an early check in (which was offered through the AMEX program) but in fairness they explained that they were very full and did bring the bags up to... More

I had to make last-minute plans to go to D.C. and, as I usually do, I looked on the American Express Platinum website for their choice of Fine Hotels and Resorts. I selected a "Grand Deluxe" room at the St Regis in part because of its location, and in part because of the great experience we had at another St... More
