So I used to live in DC for 20 years and very familiar with all the areas to stay. This was a nice place to stay and in an area I would never of thought of staying for many reasons. So let's start with first impressions. So the hotel is directly across from the boring Hyatt Capitol Hill. The building... More

Location is great - a walk to Union Station and the Capitol building. Our room was tastefully furnished, but no mini bar (not so good). We ate in the restaurant and found the menu was very uncompromisingly southern with grits and other foreign things (to us). The bar staff were very brusque and dismissive. The swimming pool was busy -... More

From the very first day of our arrival at the Liaison Capitol Hill our stay was wonderful.. The Staff was so helpful during our stay.... But there were actually three (3) individuals that stood out above and beyond... At the Front Desk... (Senait & Bryce) and on The Roof Top Lounge... (Kenya) had everything under control and made the Environment/Bar... More

Only book this hotel if you are out between 8am and 4pm every day. The entrance area of the hotel is being reconstructed (we stayed at the hotel 4 nights in July 2014) and that means NOISE from heavy machinery ALL DAY. It was impossible to sleep, talk and even being in the hotelroom during the day. The dinner menu... More

This is my 2nd review of this wonderful hotel. Last time we stayed here was July of 2011. This trip we drove via minivan after visiting Colonial Williamsburg. I knew parking in this hotel is expensive, $49.56 per night, so I parked at Union Station for 22 per night. Liaison is only 2 blocks away from Union Station and Capital... More

Great spot, so close to Capitol Hill and very good restaurant. Nice pool and bar up top, views of Capitol building etc are not great up there, but still a good spot for a relax with a drink....or two, around the pool.

Let me start off by saying this hotel is centrally located. Steps away from the Capitol building, close to the metro etc. For the most part, the hotel is kept pretty clean and tidy, however, there was a bit of mildew in my shower and the rooftop pool was pretty darn dirty. It definitely needs to be cleaned more frequently.... More

Traveling with our 10-year-old granddaughter, we knew it would be special if we found a hotel in Washington, DC that was close to the hub of sites, had access to metro being close, and had a swimming pool! The Liaison answered all the above and more! The hotel is now undergoing some renovation on the entrance and our concierge, Michelle,... More

I stayed for 2 nights during a recent business trip. The hotel is in a convenient location and the staff was cordial. The property is a renovated Holiday Inn so the room layouts are tight. There are several casual dining options nearby.

This hotel is centrally located for everything you will want to see or do in DC. The restaurant has fabulous food, although we were told the chef is leaving. Typically we eat anywhere but the hotel. The first morning we just wanted to grab a bite and be gone, but the food was so good we ate there each morning... More

The rooms feature flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi, iHome docks, modern furnishings, upgraded signature Affinia bedding and remodeled bathrooms. The Smithsonian, the National Mall, Union Station, and dozens of the country’s most visited museums and monuments are within walking distance. The Capitol Hill hotel is both a powerful bond to the nation’s capital and a comfortable escape as well. At in-house restaurant Art and Soul, celebrity Chef Art Smith lovingly creates his award-winning Southern-modern “food for the soul.” Our seasonal rooftop pool and bar make another spectacular setting, with views that highlight The Liaison’s central location between Union Station and the Capitol. ... more   less
