I was last there in January. The big news is that I have received word from my friend, the manager there, that the cost of a double room has fallen to 30CUC and the cost of single per night to 20CUC, Both prices include breakfast...eggs, toast, the "mystery" meat, and whatever limited fruit and vegetables are on hand. A very pleasant hotel. Nice grounds. Rooms small but adequate. Restaurant pleasant and the food was good. Nice staff. more

The Villa el Bosque started life as the Holguin Country Club, before the Revolution of 1959. It was then transformed into a motel; the parking spaces for the huge US cars at that time can still be seen next to the villas.
