We stayed at Brisas Guardalavaca from sept 27 to oct 4 2008, so about 2 weeks after Ike. We stayed in the villa section since the hotel is being repaired and will be closed until january. The villa's were completly cleaned up and the pool was in great shape. I buffet was opened and the Italien restaurant and sea food.... more

Hello I was at Brisas 2 days before Ike arrived, and our travel company left us there to experience Ike first hand unfortunately. On Sunday Sept 7th at noon they began to evacuate us to Blau Coste Verte so we would be away from the shore when Ike hit. Ike was heading right for us. We spent the night at... more

This was just one of the most amazing holidays ever! We booked just a week ahead and got an amazing all-inclusive deal, including upgrades. I must admit (although it was the end of the season) there was a part of me that wondered what we had actually signed up for when the price was half what we had expected to... more

We stayed here as part of a Natural Cuba tour from Kuoni. Stayed 4 days in the villas. Ground floor room was clean and large but very damp. Aircon did not seem to help this problem. Reception desk a bit off hand and non helpful. cleaners very good, they will do your laundry for a small charge per item. Buffet... more

This hotel has the potential to be a fantastic, top quality, luxury hotel. However, it falls down primarily due to the attitude of some (but not all) staff members, in particular the incredibly unhelpful reception staff and front desk management. We stayed in 6 other hotels around Cuba and I would return to all the others without hesitation, but definitely... more

What can i say the worst two weeks of my life. Myself, husband and three kids have just returned. The hotel staff were unfriendly, theft was a regular occurance within the hotel, the buffet food area is covered in flies and birds eating the buffet food. I myself came down with diarrhea which lasted for 10 days when i had... more

This is likely the first review on here of a vacation experience at Brisas post-hotel closure for renovations. We stayed at Brisas for the last week of August '08. The hotel section was closed down the previous week to begin renovations and it greatly impacts the facilities available to you while staying in the Villas section. This resort does visibly... more

I consider my family and I to be fairly experienced travellers, and I'm used to reading bad hotel reviews on the internet, which most of the time are all hot air and to be ignored. But after going to the Brisas I feel the need to make people think twice before spending their hard earned money coming here. Having been... more
