Gigantic and old fashioned room! The hostess, Iris, is very cheerful and helpful. She was always ready to help us on making phone calls to our country and giving us advice concerning the Trinidad night life and restaurants. The breakfast was pretty complete and tasty. In the first night we had dinner there and it was served a big and... More

The best Hostal in Trinidad! If you are looking for somewhere cosy, friendly, familiar, confortable and beautiful "El TAyaba" is your place to stay in Trinidad. Iris, the girl that host the place, is a georgeus girl that will show you where to go, and the best information about what to do in Trinidad. Her mum, Rosa, is the master... More

We found this casa particular through the Rough guide, in which the place was enthusiastically promoted. We couldn't agree more. Both Iris and her cousin were very warm, welcoming and honest. They even invited us to Iris's birthday. The house is clean, the rooms are spacious and the private bathroom a real plus (compared to other casas). Perhaps the only... More

We stayed for a couple of nights. The bed was comfortable and the terrace and garden areas were nice. Trinidad is a beautiful city and the casa is in a good location for exploring both during the day and at night.

We had a not so nice place in Trinidad and decided to stay longer in a beautiful colonial room. This was one of the best and most beautiful room I have seen in Cuba. It was 25 CUC! The owner was super friendly and the room was huge with all the colonial furniture. We absolutely loved it here.Breakfast was very... More

It was our one and only casa experience during our 1 week stay in Cuba. So not much to benchmark against. However: - great location, just perfect to stay in this Cuban jewell that Trinidad is - we had room #2, and it was overall ok, even if the electrical installation would give a heart attack to any UK tourism... El Tayaba is well located in the heart of old Trinidad.Nice house and private rooms with nice walk out colonial yard and a little terreza. Mid of March I paid $35 CUC at night and $5 CUC for breakfast.Breakfast was big enough to hold you for 4 or 5 hours.I did not have any dinner at the house but they... More

Wandering around Trinidad searching for a casa in the blazing sun, we stumbled on El Tayaba and had a wonderful time. Iris was warm, affectionate and fun from our arrival- her English was also very good. She helped us book a horse-ride, find local music spots and assisted with every request. The casa has a long history and is located... More

Having booked this casa months in advance we were inundated with emails weekly from Iris. We were a bit sceptical about this but it turned out that Iris is a 'larger than life' character who just loves to chat and be helpful! (She died her hair pink to celebrate Valentine's Day while we were there.) The exchange of photos by... More
