We couldn't have chosen a better place to start our discovery of NZ - small, intimate, classy, beautifully and tastefully decorated with lots of bleached teak - friendly and very helpful staff, delicious gourmet meals cooked by Jonathan and Adam. We felt really spoilt and would love to return!

THE best place on the island to be treated with the care and comfort a human being deserves while not being treated like a simple commercial commodity. Trust me, me and my better half went to a flashier place too, but the hospitality was only so-so. The whole staff knows what it means to make far travelers feel welcomed and... More

Beautiful, quaint place, thoughtfully decorated. Every time I looked at a corner, I saw something new that caught my eye. Great view of Little Oneroa beach, watching the sailboats. A spectacular garden, from which the very fine dining emerged. Well worth the trip from California just to go there. The staff was fabulous, almost made me feel like family. This... More

Welcome bubbles & cheese; greeted by the local visiting kitten Lady Emma who may well come and grace you with her presence again, or not, depending on her kittenish mood; lapping waves not far away; big blue skies; delicious and filling dinner; lovely hospitality from the owners through to the kitchen staff; beautiful and make-you-feel-horticulturally-challenged garden which provides the kitchen... My wife surprised me by arranging a 30th wedding anniversary evening at the boatshed on Waiheke Island. The Hotel is really interesting. Its not over the top but its really nice. The décor is in keeping with its name - The Boatshed and there's plenty to remind you of the nautical theme. The food was amazing with the vegetables fresh... More

We had three nights at the Boatshed to help forget the flight and to pamper ourselves. The online pictures dont do the location, design or attention to detail, justice. The quality of every thing is stunning. That includes the welcome, the wine, the meals, the rooms and of course the service provided by people who really care. The Boatshed will... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at The Boatshed upon our arrival to New Zealand and can imagine no better way to recover from jetlag and start enjoying all that New Zealand has to offer. Both the common areas and the rooms of the hotel are beautifully decorated, and the hotel is situated just a short walk... More

Waiheke is an island with a micro climate with great wines and even olive trees. Arriving at Auckland airport the drive to the ferry terminal is only half an hour and the ferry ride a scenic 45 minutes. The Boatshed is overlooking the narrowest part of the island with the sea on both sides and could best be described as... More

Our first destination in a 63 night RTW trip was The Boatshed and it has set a high standard for others to aspire to. Jonathan and his team here just excellent in their quiet discreet service levels which created an oasis of calm and tranquility. The food too was of the highest quality, taste-full and served with enthusiasm Our room... More
