My wife surprised me by arranging a 30th wedding anniversary evening at the boatshed on Waiheke Island. The Hotel is really interesting. Its not over the top but its really nice. The décor is in keeping with its name - The Boatshed and there's plenty to remind you of the nautical theme. The food was amazing with the vegetables fresh... More

We had three nights at the Boatshed to help forget the flight and to pamper ourselves. The online pictures dont do the location, design or attention to detail, justice. The quality of every thing is stunning. That includes the welcome, the wine, the meals, the rooms and of course the service provided by people who really care. The Boatshed will... More

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at The Boatshed upon our arrival to New Zealand and can imagine no better way to recover from jetlag and start enjoying all that New Zealand has to offer. Both the common areas and the rooms of the hotel are beautifully decorated, and the hotel is situated just a short walk... More

Waiheke is an island with a micro climate with great wines and even olive trees. Arriving at Auckland airport the drive to the ferry terminal is only half an hour and the ferry ride a scenic 45 minutes. The Boatshed is overlooking the narrowest part of the island with the sea on both sides and could best be described as... More

Our first destination in a 63 night RTW trip was The Boatshed and it has set a high standard for others to aspire to. Jonathan and his team here just excellent in their quiet discreet service levels which created an oasis of calm and tranquility. The food too was of the highest quality, taste-full and served with enthusiasm Our room... More

Arriving at Aukland after an 11 hour flight from Hong Kong, we took the Airport Bus for a leisurely 45 minute ride to the ferry terminal, then a 40 minute crossing to Waiheke, where a car was waiting to take us to The Boatshed. Jonathan, who runs it, is tall and gangly, like Cleese, but not at all fawlty. He... More

We stayed 2 nights at The Boastshed on the 17/18th November 2014. The location is delightful with beautiful views over the sea and surrounding hills. The accommodation is fabulous with lots of attention to detail. We arrived during a deluge and I was thrilled to find a cosy fire in our room! We were met with a glass of wine... More

We only had 2 nights here and wish we had booked longer. The plan was to chill out after our long flight in and Waiheke is perfect for that. The Boatshed really have it right. Every detail is thought about from the background music to the jars of sweets in your room. Breakfasts were great with local ingredients if not... More

Stayed here the first two nights of our honeymoon based upon a friend's recommendation and without knowing much about the hotel or Waiheke. The Boatshed is a premium boutique hotel but upon walking in it's immediately obvious to see where that premium is going. I was going to write lots of detail as to exactly why this hotel cannot be...
