Our plane from the US arrived early, before dawn. We wound up taking the 7:20 am ferry to Waiheke Island. The taxi driver called ahead to say we would arrive early. Even though we changed ferry times on them they still managed to have a car waiting for us when we got off the dock. I was really impressed, and... More

We recently celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the Boatshed. We chose one of the Boatshed rooms, which were beautiful and had the added benefit of being able to walk in and out and the beautiful steamer chairs to sit and relax and take in the gorgeous view of Oneroa bay. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather. On... More

We first stayed at the Boatshed three years ago, loved it and made a point of returning on our recent NZ trip, staying for three nights before flying home from Auckland. We were not disappointed. Kitchen garden even better, food fabulous, rooms well equipped and furnished. A luxurious retreat with great views, convenient for beaches and exploring the island. Staff... More

Let me start by saying that you get what you pay for. Yes, this hotel is pricey, but the staff and the accommodations are of the highest quality. When you arrive, you don't "check in", you come in, sit down and relax. Your bags are delivered to your room and you are free to roam, sit, rest, whatever. We had... More

We spend four nights at the Boatshed and I have to say it was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. The accommodation was amazing and the attention to detail both in the accommodation, staff and food was outstanding. Everybody "went the extra mile" nothing was too much trouble. Only seven "rooms" but all amazing in their... More

We stayed here for our 10th anniversary and the second stop on our month long trip. We travel quite a bit and stay at hotels on this scale almost exclusively. I'm not quite sure I would put the boatshed at 5 stars, but it's pretty darn close .. I'm also fairly particular about my hotels. I pay premium to get... More

The Boatshed is the ultimate relaxing retreat. Small ,intimate ,casual but very high class. The food is delicious ,innovative and mostly fresh from the garden. Dinner includes two beautiful and substantial canapés followed by three courses. We had BBQ rack of lamb, fish with puy lentils and rib eye with an assortment of roasted vegetables and delicious red wine sauce.... More

We booked the Jet Lag package having travelled 24hrs from Dubai - this was to be our only chance of down time on a 3 week holiday with family, so we sneaked into the Boat Shed without anybody else knowing. We could have stayed forever - 2 nights was just not enough, we wanted to return at the end of... More

We had a fantastic 6th anniversary at The Boatshed once we got over a few bumps. Good stuff first: service, food, location, room and amenities were all fantastic. Breakfast was excellent and the staff made us feel at home. We had a few issues with sleeping the first night due to too much ambient light and the pillows. We stayed... More

Stayed for 3 nights what more could you want. Jonathan and his staff are wonderful, friendly and could not do more for us. We thank you all and I cannot wait to come back here. This is the most perfect place to stay, amazing food, wonderful wines, fantastic staff. The garden is great, where most if the vegetables come from... More
