We had just got engaged and had 3 days staying in the Lighthouse at the Boatshed, Waiheke Island. We were welcomed with a plate of cheese and some beautiful wine. Immediately, we knew this would be a great place to relax! Jonathan and the staff were extremely accommodating, including cooking some spectacular food! This included a high end dinner that... More

I loved this place. We were welcomed by a glass of wine and lovely plate of local cheeses, crackers and dried fruits and encourage to sit and enjoy the view over the bay. We stayed in the lighthouse room which gave the most amazing views around. The dinner was delicious, using very fresh ingredients grown on the property. We raved... More

The Boatshed is a stunning property with beautiful views. We stayed in a Boatshed room, which was lovely, comfortable, with lots of nice little touches, such as providing a beach bag with hats and suncream etc. The whole aesthetic is fantastic, you walk in and just feel very relaxed. The greeting on arrival was friendly and generous, with tea, cake... More

The experience was fabulous. Of course I am a reader of the bad reviews first and let me point out all of those were many years ago! They definitely have straightened out. We had the jet lag package plus a couple of days... We were picked up from the ferry, staff pulled our luggage out of the car took it... More

Our plane from the US arrived early, before dawn. We wound up taking the 7:20 am ferry to Waiheke Island. The taxi driver called ahead to say we would arrive early. Even though we changed ferry times on them they still managed to have a car waiting for us when we got off the dock. I was really impressed, and... More

We recently celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at the Boatshed. We chose one of the Boatshed rooms, which were beautiful and had the added benefit of being able to walk in and out and the beautiful steamer chairs to sit and relax and take in the gorgeous view of Oneroa bay. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather. On... More

We first stayed at the Boatshed three years ago, loved it and made a point of returning on our recent NZ trip, staying for three nights before flying home from Auckland. We were not disappointed. Kitchen garden even better, food fabulous, rooms well equipped and furnished. A luxurious retreat with great views, convenient for beaches and exploring the island. Staff... More

Let me start by saying that you get what you pay for. Yes, this hotel is pricey, but the staff and the accommodations are of the highest quality. When you arrive, you don't "check in", you come in, sit down and relax. Your bags are delivered to your room and you are free to roam, sit, rest, whatever. We had... More

We spend four nights at the Boatshed and I have to say it was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed in. The accommodation was amazing and the attention to detail both in the accommodation, staff and food was outstanding. Everybody "went the extra mile" nothing was too much trouble. Only seven "rooms" but all amazing in their... More

We stayed here for our 10th anniversary and the second stop on our month long trip. We travel quite a bit and stay at hotels on this scale almost exclusively. I'm not quite sure I would put the boatshed at 5 stars, but it's pretty darn close .. I'm also fairly particular about my hotels. I pay premium to get... More
