As an expat New Zealander living in London it's places like Connell's Bay that make you wonder why you ever left home. Your gracious and friendly hosts John and Jo Gow have put a lot of thought into equipping the guest cottage with everything you might need but the stunning and peaceful surroundings really need no embellishment and you could... Words can hardly describe the wonderful experience that is Connells Bay. An absolute haven. The natural beauty of the land alongside stunning and thought provoking sculptures was breathtaking. The guest cottage with its white picket fences and the path leading to your own beach and the turquoise sea lapping..just gorgeous. The cottage itself was beautifully maintained and thoughtfully stocked with... More

We stayed at Connnells Bay for 6 nights in December 2013 and we were joined by our son and his wife and their 8 day old baby! It couldn't have been more perfect. The cottage and its location are idyllic. Caretakers Sally and Phil were brilliant in every detail including being there when you needed them but always respectful of... More

We had two nights in Casa 3 and it could not have been more perfect. The cottage has the see at the front door and the sculpture park at the backdoor. Perfectly restored, well equipped and a fridge well stocked in breakfast delights! A perfect place to relax after a wedding! We particularly liked the wander through the sculpture garden... More

What an incredible location. From the time we arrived we thought we were on our honeymoon again. Instead it was our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Connells Bay Guest house was fantastic, self contained, so make sure you get supplies on the way there as it is fair way from town. Also make time to view the Sculpture gardens. We had two... More

We loved our three days in the lovely little historic cottage, beautifully restored, nestled by the perfect bay. What a joy to stay here, metres from the beach, where the rising sun blazed a path across the calm waters, directly to our door, as in a child's painting. The house was very well equipped and provisioned. The sculpture park provided... More

Somewhere you can escape from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life for a few days with all the amenities you need. An absolutely stunning location. The owner even provided a FWD to access the property,we just left our rental car just inside the gate of the property and transferred our cases. Just one slight draw back for anyone with... More

This was the perfect ending to our three week New Zealand experience! After extensively touring the South Island, we needed a break before heading back to the U.S. Our idea of a vacation is to get away from everything and relax. There were no crowds, no nearby restaurants, no nearby shops.....just plenty of hiking trails, learning about sculpture, fabulous hosts... More

We wanted a quiet weekend. We certainly got that, plus more! The seclusion, the comfort, the service, the beauty of the art, native bush and bird life left us in awe of this wonderful bay. Special thanks to the Caretakers Noel and Dulcie for their help and information that made for a wonderful hassle free stay. We will be back!
