I can't think of a better way to summarize this hotel other than average. Our room was over the pool and the view of the harbor was beautiful, but the room had no air conditioning & it was a very warm weekend. It's very difficult to sleep with the doors open when in the middle of such a noisy area.... More

This hotel wasn't that great, but you get what you pay for. Staff was very friendly, but the room was outdated and not very clean. The bar by the pool was nice and it was nice to have a couple chairs out on the balcony to hang out at. The hotel is located close to some shops and restaurants which... More

It was a special weekend away for us, we had booked a room on line and from the image that was shown of the room on the web site, it looked just right. What we got was no where near the advertised image!!! Our room was dirty and smelled. The cups and spoons were dirty and the glasses had only... More

Rooms we were initially given were small, cramped and only had a tiny window to open in the corner. We were able to have rooms upgraded (for a cost) to larger rooms with sliding doors that opened onto balconies however these were not separated so anyone on that level could walk outside your room or into if you had the... We stayed in Room 204 which had a nice view over the harbour. Guests with a "mountain view" room on the other side of the corridor would be disappointed with the outlook. A harbour view is really worthwhile. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was basic and a bit worn. The hairdryer was cheap and nasty. Flat... More

Good - large room with a lovely view of the harbour. Comfortable bed. The evening meal on the first night was tasty with chicken followed by pecan tart and ice cream. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. Bad - some rooms have been refurbished but mine hadn't. My bathroom was disgusting with a badly damaged wash basin, filthy and broken... More

Pleasant small town with cafes etc. The hotel was a tiny bit dated but made up for it by the view across the swimming pool to the sea and mountains. Food was good and good friendly service from the staff

Dear doreen m, Thank you for your feedback. I would completely agree with you, we indeed have one of the most spectacular views of the sounds. We have recently renovated our swimming pool with new comfortable yet elegant furniture and we have received some fantastic feedback from some of our regular guests. My husband and I with our two children stayed in a room here on 4 th march 2015. It is nice but dated and shower leaks water onto floor all around toilet area. Staff are lovely and pool is excellent. View of harbour is stunning too. Average but could be amazing if money was spent on updating

Our room was large, clean and well equipped; it had a table and chairs in the room as well as a balcony, from which we had a good view or the pool and Picton Harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful. This was booked as a stop-off between arriving on the ferry and travelling further in the South Island, but... More

Dear GJW1, Thank you for taking time and giving us your feedback. I completely agree with you, Picton may be a small town but the beauty of the town is missed by many commuters! We often have guests wanting to stay an extra night as there is so much to do and sometime just relaxing in our beautiful town is... More

We stayed in the bottom rooms and boy do they Ned some works. Yes we paid only $145 for the night but the carpet was terrible and where do you start with the bathroom. Water sprayed everywhere and over the floor. Also why on earth as a guest you would want to pay 68 cents a minute for wifi. Sorry... More
