Stayed here for one night - I could have stayed a week! they even run a free shuttle bus from the ferry terminal to their lodge - although it's only a 10 min walk (at best) from the high street area of shops to the hostel (I noted that one reviewer has said it takes 15 mins to walk it... More

Looking for a place to stay over night close to the ferry to North Island, we first stopped at a motel in Renwick. They wanted $130 for very basic grubby accommodation. Why so much I asked? Because it's close to the ferry! We went to the local info centre and they found us Sequoia Lodge in Picton. Less than five... More

We stayed in their family room suitable for 4 with a double bunk and single above and a separate single bed. The room was a good size with 2 desk lamps. Single toilet and shower nearby. Our room was at the southern end of the building outside the main block. No heater is in the room so it could be... More

Really enjoyed my stay at sequoia lodge, the staff are all very helpful and friendly. There are great seating areas outside, including a hammock and nice communal facilities. Really enjoyed playing the big chess outside too. Very nice place to stay and great for the tirohanga trail which gives a great view of Picton.

My friend and I stayed for one night, and it was great met really nice people and is a lovely place to stay, they even have breakfast for free and chocolate pudding night with ice cream for everyone, which makes your stay nicer. Totally recommended

We regret just staying for one night at Sequoia Lodge. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly, the beds could have been a bit better. The hostel is located a 15 minute walk from 'downtown' Picton in a quiet residential area opposite a park. We can definitely recommend staying at the Sequioa Lodge just for the pudding and... More

I stayed in Sequoia Lodge for almost 2 month because I was working in Picton. This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The service is very good, the hostel is one of the cleanest ones I've ever been in, the lounge and kitchen are really big and really nice to stay and cook in. The chocolate... More

The Sequoia was a convenient and nice stop over after the late ferry from Wellington, not too far from town, with friendly hosts. The beds were okay, the shared bathroom clean, if a little short on showers (busy hostel meant a bit of a wait). Kitchen facilities were good, and the various social areas nice to relax around (a good... More

I particularly enjoyed my stay in sequoia lodge thanks to the lovely house, comfortable and sunny rooms and a really nice woofers team. There are some beautiful tracks close to the lodge and all what you need to enjoy your stay (beach, bar, resto, banks)
