Very Nice Hostel, stayed there while travelling on the Stray Bus. I Travelled new Zealnd during one month from North to South and it was by far The fastest free wifi Internet I have ever had in New Zealand. Free Breakfast basic but still and Free crumble after diner. Room and kitchen are Nice and well equipped.

I enjoyed my stay here. First and only hostel on my 2 week vacation to show me around upon check-in. Happy and friendly front desk staff. I think his name was Mark. My only complaint was we had booked a 6bed dorm and ended up in a 10bed dorm. Free unlimited wifi. The grounds are comfortable as inviting. There's a... More

Rooms: reasonable dorm beds with lots of blankets. Heater works reasonably well. Hooks in several places. Each bed has it's own light. Common rooms: fireplace and couches. How can you argue with that! Kitchen: clean and has everything you need. Staff: friendly, helpful and can book anything for you. Wifi is free and strong. Good location right in the center.... More

I had a great stay at the Villa - I was only there one night and would've stayed longer if I could! Some of the friendliest staff of any hostel in New Zealand, the complimentary apple crumble is top notch, and the hostel itself is really cosy. It feels more like a home than a stuffy hotel or mondo 10-story... More

The Villa is simply great! We arrived late and pretty hungry, so the receptionist arranged for us to have some of the free apple crumble pie with ice cream first and have some jacuzzi time afterwards. Both were very, very good. The hostel has a nice atmosphere and it's a shame we only stayed there for one night. We watched... More

What an amazing hostel! It was a nice, cosy house which gave me a warm feeling. The staff was very kind and helpfull. The kitchen, showers and toilets are very clean and the jacuzzi was amazing. The free apple crumble with ice cream in the evening was the finishing touch...

We were stranded in Picton after catching the late ferry and not being able to hitchhike. We arrived at the villa to a warm welcome and really felt at home. They really care about getting people together. They ring a bell to get everyone out of their rooms to have apple crumble. We spent the night on the long table... More

I loved this hostel. It's an old house with additional rooms around the patio, a tree house, and jacuzzi. The people who work there are very nice and the owner helped us arrange our Queen Charlotte trek. The facilities are very clean and there's free apple crumble and ice cream every night.

I stayed here before starting my trip around the South Island, and I wished that I had an extra night to enjoy it. The hostel has a cool setup and offers enough to keep you busy! The rooms were cozy and opened right to the patio, there was free wifi and a personal lamp at every bed, and I liked... More

I guess it used to be in better conditions but still you have everything you need and it's well located. I liked the treehouse which was really enjoyable. But as I already metioned: everything looks like it used to be in a better condition.
