We booked to stay in a 4 bed dorm but we were the only 2 in there which was quite nice! The overall first impression of the Villa was great, homely, bright and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The showers/toilets were also clean. The garden has so many different areas to sit in - the... More

I've been to The Villa a couple of times and will be returning again after doing the Queen Charlotte Track. It's a lovely old building and the facilities are good. Rooms are clean and comfortable, free wifi is nice to have. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The Villa is really close to the ferry terminals and supermarket, although Picton is a quite small town where everything is nearby. They offer their guests a wonderful garden and veranda to hang out, clean facilities and a nice kitchen. Mark from the reception really seems to love his job, he makes you feel very welcome - thank you for... More

We booked this hostel after seeing it in lonely planet. How pleased we were that we booked it. Great loungy aroundy areas, at least 2 kitchens, plenty of space, great info on the area. We had a great time! Met the owner and both managers, all of whom were friendly, helpful and chatty. My only piece of feedback for improvement... More

Amazing hostel, with friendly and helpful staff! The hostel feels like home. The fireplace and the spa are amazing! A great place to meet new people while you're backpacking through NZ. Love to go back one day!

I stayed in Picton and this Hostel for a couple days. And this Hostel is really perfect to stay! You will meet there fantastic people. And in winter time you will get a hot apple crumble (it tasted awesome!). I loved this Hostel so much that I came again a month later. And it was perfect to sit in the... More

Very close to the ferry for walking even with a big backpack. Kitchen is lacking in most every way, perhaps it was just the smaller one for the part we were in, but that's what I have to review. Tour was pretty basic, never saw any of this so apple crumb pie perhaps it was only in the bigger building.... More

The hostel is OK. New and clean kitchen. The rooms are alright. Maybe the German manager had a bad day, she was not too friendly and seemed pretty stressed out. There are better hostels with very friendly management in town.

Welcoming from the moment I was picked up from the ferry terminal. Its definetely walkable, but it was raining You are given a small tour when you check in. The apple crumb pie in the evening brings everyone together, giving the opportunity to meet others so easily. wish I could've stayed longer.

I reckon it was the best hostel I stayed at whilst my travels around New Zealand. It is very homely and especially charming as the building is actually an about 100 year old villa. There is a very neat backyard resp. garden with a free, very clean hot spa, free bikes (I haven't taken advantage of), free, delicious hot apple... More
