This is a great place to stay in a very beautiful part of New Zealand. I stayed in a one bedroom unit which was really clean, cosy, well appointed and nicely decorated. There are a couple of places to eat in the nearby marina which are in very easy walking distance, otherwise it's only 4km to Picton town centre. The... More

The Bay Vista is in our opinion one of the best places you can stay at on the South Island. Close to the ferries and views to die for. We booked a one bedroom unit and got the same unit as last time, which suited us perfectly! Thanks Lillian!

What a wonderful place. The view from our room was so great, we wound up bringing food back to the motel for two of the three nights we stayed here. Even if you think Picton is a little out of the way for touring the Marlborough wine region, Bay Vista makes the extra drive well worth it.

Great service. Fantastic location along the bay. The four of us arrived late at night and in the morning we awoke to view the bay in all its glory. The gentleman at reception (John, I believe) was very nice and showed me different directions to take on our journey down south to Queenstown.

The Bay Vista is beautifully situated on a small bay just outside Picton with gardens sweeping down to the beach. The motel units are modern, sparklingly clean and well equipped. Our welcome could not have been warmer from the very friendly couple who run the place. We only managed a one night stay, since we had onward travel plans, but... More

We could not get into the motel itself and so we stayed in the holiday apartment across the road (owned by Bay Vista). What a fantastic spot. It was really a two bedroomed house and it had absolutely everything that we needed and more besides. The managers were fantastic and so helpful and chatty and 'real'. I slept like a... More

We were lucky to be upgraded to a two bedroom unit which was spacious but could not fault this motel for its location, with superb views down the bay, facilities, which while not luxurious were all clean and serviceable, and service which was excellent, including an offer to iron our clothes we had just washed in the on-site laundry!

We sadly only stayed here one night after our ferry crossing and before heading south but our accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the lady managing the property could not have been more helpful or pleasant. She met us at the ferry, waited for us to do a little shopping and ran us to the car rental company in... More

The Bay Vista Waterfront's website really doesn't do this motel credit. We stayed in a 2 bed unit and had wonderful uninterrupted views down to the Sounds and the wildlife from a private terrace. The accommodation is comfortable, practical, clean and quiet. The owners are awesome! So friendly, cheerful and helpful without being intrusive. They even offered to peg out... More

We stayed for a couple of nights, the units are scattered around, ours was one min drive from reception. It was very close to the track that goes to the snout and then Picton. New flat with all the amenities for washing and cooking. Newly furnished and functioning. Toiletries also provided. On the minus side, the wifi wasn't working this... More
