After spending 5 weeks in NZ, Whatamonga was in our top 3 experiences. It is just minutes from the ferry on Queen Charlotte Sound. Spectacular views from your room and bed in either of their 2 chalets, along with a balcony that puts you in the treetops. Colette was a great host, inviting us for cocktails when we arrived and... Whatamonga Homestay's peaceful location is always such a welcomed haven for our guests who have been busy exploring the varied sights of New Zealand. Our guests always enjoy the chance to "slow down", enjoy our hospitality and partake in the delights of the Sounds. This is why we have a minimum two day stay. All our guests would just love... The accomodation is run by a lovely lady. We had a very warm welcome. Our apartment was very comfortable and has great views to Queen Charlotte Sound. From our aparment we were obseving Queen Mary 2 coming into Picton. QM2 was diverted to Picton due to rough sea in Wellington caused by cyclone Pam. The breakfast at Whatamonga Homestay is... More

It is always exciting to watch the big cruise ships sail past on their ocassionally visits to Picton. We are glad you got to meet and interact with Benji and Muffy, our two unofficial hosts. Colette sends her regards. Thanks for posting your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to Whatamonga sometime soon. More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The views are amazing - we saw dolphins and a stingray over breakfast! It is a studio room with a sink/fridge and microwave. There is no tv - but we were too busy looking at the view to notice! We made full use of the kayaks and loved messing around at the beach.

The views at Whatamonga Homestay are stunning! Amazing outlook over the Queen Charlotte Sound which mirrors the website, which is pleasing when you book on-line. Colette was a terrific host who endeavoured to make our 3 night stay a memorable occasion. The absence of TV and internet made it a wonderful relaxing stay.

We loved staying here for three days in November. Our host Colette was very helpful(plenty of useful information) and friendly. The unit was clean and everything worked. We had fresh milk daily and the breakfasts (what would you like tomorrow ?) were fantastic.......we were spoilt for choice. We enjoyed our little chats over breakfast too. The location is on a... Been meaning to write this since we stayed with Colette for 3 nights in mid-February 2014. Outstanding! Our cabin was bright, squeaky clean, comfortable and private. The view of the Sound was unimpeded, the ocean sounds and breezes were a delight, and Colette could not be more welcoming. She is a peach. Breakfasts were appealing, not too heavy and always... Thank you so much for taking the time to post your Tripadvisor review. Colette was thrilled to read your review and your very thoughtful words. We were especially delighted with the photo you captured of Benji down near the water. He sure is a character. We look forward to seeing your back at Whatamonga in the near future. Kind Regards. Collette was a charming hostess but we felt that the room lacked what it needs to justify the price. We stayed in interlocking rooms as 3 adults. The only mirror was in the bathroom so that was a problem in the mornings. The 2nd room had no tea or coffee facilities or fridge so not worth the same price as... More

Thank you for your feedback on our guest rooms.
