Nice clean tidy room. Shared kitchen. Good view of the bay from the balcony. In the morning there was freshly baked bread available in the kitchen, yummy! Friendly staff and lots of brochures and information available.

We were a few people so it was very quiet. Large double room with a comfortable bed. Facilities very clean. Landry-machine and dryer (2$ each) very efficient. Kitchen well equipped with everything for cooking. Several tables outside. Staff friendly. The only negative point is the wifi : free vouchers but only 50 MB that is really too low for travellers.

Hi Thanks for all your positive feedback - we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Our apologies you did not have enough Wi-fi - since you visited in December we have made the decision to increase the value of the Wi-fi voucher we give on arrival to 200MB. We would have been more than happy to give you... More

8 of us stayed in 5 rooms which were clean and comfortable. The owner was very friendly. We were playing in a bridge tournament at Waikawa Bay and it was only a short walk to this, the local hotel and restaurant. There is a track that goes all the way to Picton as well. Short drive to town, quiet with... More

This was booked through the information centre in picton for 3 nights, at their recommendation. about 8kl from town. When we arrived the owner was just going out, leaving us a note. The room was clean and well appointed, 4 rooms appear to have been added on the front top part of the house from the outside. Access to the... More

We usually camp out but wanted a hostel room to catch an early ferry and not worry about breaking camp. A few km out of town but we had a car. We wanted a double room and they gave us a ground floor room with private bath across the hall. Room had 2 rubber water bottle (bed warmers?) extra towels,... More

We were upgraded to a lovely family room with bathroom when we had booked a dorm as the hostel was quiet. Very clean and quiet and friendly owners, they even offered us a lift to the next town Only downside if you don't have a car is the distance from Picton

Booked this little gem for two nights through BBH website. Totally amazing. We are doing our 'grey gap year' on a year around the world ticket. We have been travelling for 7 months so far and The Buccaneer is one of those places you arrive at and feel instantly at home. Excellent clean facilities, warm hospitable hosts, views to soak... Our room was upstairs with an ensuite with balcony, table and chairs - double bed with bunk beds in our room. Kettle etc in room which is a nice touch and very handy as kitchen is downstairs. It is very quiet with a paddock in front with sheep and hens. Complimentary homemade bread in the morning which was delicious. Everything... More

Found this place in the BBH guide. Stayed in a double room with ensuite for one night. Cost about 70 dollars (can't remember exactly). Nice, clean shower and toilet. Comfortable bed, great views across harbour. Great value compared to other places around NZ where you pay the same for shared bathroom and no view. Shared kitchen and lounge was very... More
