Can not stress enough- this is a perfect backpackers and you should not hesitate before booking- and that, you must do as its so popular and often fully booked. It had all you could want; free bfast (cereals, toasts, fresh scones, tea and coffee), free wif and communal computer, towels, outdoor spa pool, pool table, tv, quiet reading room, clean... More

Clean bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen, cosy dining area, very nice and helpful staff, there is only one hostel in a 1000 being that good! Extras, such as free wifi and free breakfast were great- the hot spa pool was a nice way to relax in the evening. The door made me laugh everytime I entered it and the hosts made... More

The rooms in Tombstone are small but clean and the spa is real nice. The kitchen and living area are not the cleanest we've seen but they serve the purpose. Lynn and Gordon let us leave our car over and gave us lifts to/from the boat when we walked the Queen Charlotte.

we stayed for three nights, Lynne and Gordon were really fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. I just couldn't believe the hospitality. One of the group needed to get to hospital to get an infection on his leg seen too, Lynne was there to get Russ to hospital and then met up with our Wine Tour to carry on the... More

I absolutely loved this place! I spent almost three weeks in New Zealand and this was, by far, the nicest place I stayed. It was right at the end of my travels and I wish I could have spent more time there. If I ever get back to Picton, it will definitely be my first pick for where to stay.... More

I have stayed at Tombstone a few times now and find it the best value. Great friendly staff who go out of their way to be helpful. Used to use the bunk rooms but the twins and doubles are great value and more spacious.

We had such a pleasant surprise when we arrived at tombstone. Courtesy pick up from the ferry terminal by the lovely Lynne or Gordon, who really make you feel at home. There is daily free breakfast including homemade hot scones, and free unlimited wifi. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a self contained apartment which was just superb... More

Of all the backpackers I visited while cycling down the length of NZ, this one was the best. Lynne is a perfect host and the building and facilities are all clean, new, and of high quality. Beyond that this backpackers offers a lot more than most others I've come across: a spa, free unlimited Internet access, free milk for tea... More

Tombstone backpacker´s was where I started my South Island trip and it was a great chioce! I love the themed design of the place that includes the modern and stylish rooms.
