Had a really great time here. Such a beautiful area and easy to reach, we went round all the other hostels that were nearer the harbour but this one is the best by miles. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would recommend this as the place to stay in Picton

We came to Juggler's Rest because of their great review on TripAdvisor and stayed at the beginning of our south island trip and the end. Nicki and Bruce are so friendly and the atmosphere is so cosy and warm. Do yourself a favour, don't just leave Picton after you ferry crossing, have a look at the area and stay at... More

I passed by the Jugglers 3 times between Jan and April 2015 and each time I was sad to leave. At first glance the hostel is just a small house a good 5 min walking out of the center, but in its smallness lays its greatness. There's only a dozen guests at a time so you'll never be a number.... I stayed here for two nights in April 2015 and I would have stayed longer had I the time. As it is I will definitely come back here the next time I'm in New Zealand. The hostel is a short 15 minutes walk from the Ferry Terminal and lies in a residential area. It's quite inconspicuous and has a quaint... More

Just right now I'm having a lovely cup of coffee in the living room of the Juggler's Rest which is flooded with warm sunlight and fulfilled with happy people who are waking up slowly and enjoy the warmth and light in this beautiful place. One is making a fire at the wonderful fireplace to keep up the warmth and coziness... More

The entrance to jugglers rest is exactly what the name entails, a quirky warm invitation to a inconspicuous backpackers in the suburbia of Picton. The walkway to the main house is red brick lined by fairy lights (a personal favourite of mine). At the front door the confusion started. A sign pointing to the right of the house stated office... The place is nice and cozy, it makes me feel at home. People would hang out at the living area mingling with fellow travellers, sharing travel experiences. The shared guestroom is spacious, everyone has a single bed placed in each corner of the room. Definitely the most comfy bed in all my hostel experiences. Bruce, our host, helped me to... More

This place is really cool, it's in a local neighborhood but in walking distance to the city centre. Very homely feeling and really cool that they have locally grown produce in the kitchen. Lots of random toys for juggling/circus around to keep you from being bored. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean. Overall a great stay in Picton!

Set in the residential area, but still a 10 minute walk to the centre of Picton town, this idyllic little hostel is honestly one of the best I have stayed in. Being a carnie at heart, the juggling balls, diablo, devil sticks, slack line and poi amongst other things made me so excited. It's a pity that there was a... More

If you want to sit around at night watching a fire/glowing juggling show with other hostel guests playing guitar and singing as you pick grapes that are growing above your head to snack on, then this is the place for you. We stayed one night before catching an early morning ferry ride back to the North Island and have told... More
