The beds were so comfy! The hosts couldn't have been more friendly. Picton is a small town and often people can be in a bit of a hurry to start heading down the South Island but if you're going to stay the night in Picton I highly recommend Jugglers Rest. The only negative, and this is a minor pet peeve... More

We only stayed one night as we hadn't previously know what it was like. The owners were very very friendly and it is a lovely little place!! There are herbs and all sorts growing in the garden and some fruit as well, tones of juggling stuff and hula hoops and not to far to walk out of town. There was... More

With only 14 or so beds this is a friendly backpackers retreat. No bunks just good beds in a perfect setting of an old villa. The garden provides herbs, seasonal veg and a playground for those who want to learn or practise their juggling and circus skills. The kitchen is well stocked and free range eggs available to buy. Fed... More

I spent three nights here and loved every minute. The hostel is a beautiful classic old NZ home with sofa decked verandah surrounded by gardens where there are lots of herbs and plants which you can add to your cooking. I'd particularly recommend it for solo travellers who will get to meet a friendly bunch of people. If you want... More

We stayed at Jugglers rest for five days and they were very helpful already from the start, having to move us between rooms so we could stay all the nights we wanted. We stayed both in a double inside the house, which was very spacious and clean and then for the rest of the time in one of the cabins... More

I stayed here for three nights over Christmas and it was one of the nicest times I've had! Nikki and Bruce are lovely friendly people who have created a gem of place to stay if you're spending time in Picton. The house is full of character and charm, with a cosy, laid back homely atmosphere. It feels nothing like a... More

Nikki and Bruce are both wonderful people, I was put in touch with them through the NZ circus community and was stoked to find myself in Picton only a couple weeks later. Their place is extremely homely and personal, facilitating an interpersonal connection with fellow travelers, the hosts, and the various circus toys around the hostel. As a fellow circus... More

We had a great 2 night stay in a private double bedroom within the main house. There are a few double rooms outside the main house. There is a lovely social atmosphere here, the hosts Nicki and Bruce were great to chat to and extremely helpful. The place has a warm, cosy feel and plenty of juggler related items about... More

Nikki and her crew are amazing hosts who make you instantly want to become jugglers and/or hippies when they share their passion about juggling with you. The Jugglers Rest is an amazing house that feels like your home as soon as you set foot inside. Shared and private rooms, cabins or pitch your tent in the grass. Once the sun... More

A colourful and homely place where you immediately feel welcome. Nikki is a great host with a great sense of humour and for whom nothing is too much trouble. Only stayed one night as that's all my itinerary would allow, but would've gladly stayed longer. Highly recommended.
