The place is nice and cozy, it makes me feel at home. People would hang out at the living area mingling with fellow travellers, sharing travel experiences. The shared guestroom is spacious, everyone has a single bed placed in each corner of the room. Definitely the most comfy bed in all my hostel experiences. Bruce, our host, helped me to... More

This place is really cool, it's in a local neighborhood but in walking distance to the city centre. Very homely feeling and really cool that they have locally grown produce in the kitchen. Lots of random toys for juggling/circus around to keep you from being bored. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were clean. Overall a great stay in Picton!

Set in the residential area, but still a 10 minute walk to the centre of Picton town, this idyllic little hostel is honestly one of the best I have stayed in. Being a carnie at heart, the juggling balls, diablo, devil sticks, slack line and poi amongst other things made me so excited. It's a pity that there was a... More

If you want to sit around at night watching a fire/glowing juggling show with other hostel guests playing guitar and singing as you pick grapes that are growing above your head to snack on, then this is the place for you. We stayed one night before catching an early morning ferry ride back to the North Island and have told... More

I have stayed here a couple of times. really great atmosphere, not too packed in the kitchen and communal spaces. Always clean and friendly staff. Fire shows are pretty cool. Most juggling/ circus toys are available, it really is a great place for a juggler to chill out.

Wonderful welcoming host offering us a selection of herbs from the kitchen garden. Well-stocked kitchen with choice of spices. Although the place was full, it was comfortable with toilets and bathrooms to go around. It is a few blocks out of town but only 10 minute walk to supermarket and 15 min to train or ferry. We had a 'shed'... More

Like many, I was just stopping here for the night after getting the ferry over from Wellington. The hosts are really welcoming and gave you any info you needed on Picton, such as local shops. Its called Jugglers Rest for a reason (not just because it's a cool name). After the sun went down we were treated to people rehearsing... More

we stopped here after crossing the cook strait, it was late and dark outside, and didn't know where it was, we did know the street, when we went by the place, the host came out to the street and said he had 2 rooms left, it worked out great. it felt like being at home ... fresh bread and eggs... Great experience and very welcoming staff. Met some other Americans here as well who loved the Juggler's Rest. The kitchen is well laid out and we loved the garden and fresh herbs. Nice clean bathrooms with hot showers. There are guitars to play available. It's an easy walk to the harbor.
