Although our "formal" bedroom was spacious & very tastefully decorated, it reminded us of an old fashioned seaside boarding house - not a boutique hotel! it did not have double glazing which meant that traffic noise and people walking on street below could easily be heard. Apparently we were lucky that the Irish Bar beside it was quiet when we... More

Travelling around NZ, we drove to Picton on the off chance and found this hotel near the sea front. Although not the cheapest when compared to the local motels, the small additional cost was, nonetheless, very good value for money. The owners and staff were all very friendly and efficient; the room was comfortable and clean; and it was convenient... More

We stayed for 2 nights while touring around Blenheim and Abel Tasman. We also had dinner downstairs the first night. Julianne is very nice and hospitable. The food is fantastic and I am still dreaming about the homemade berry-cream brioche (muffin?) and croissants for breakfast. The room was beautiful and very comfortable and quiet and my husband loved the huge... More

The restaurant is very well presented, neat and beautiful. I had the mussels with fries the first time, a very filling meal with a delicious garlic and white wine sauce with the mussels. The service was excellent and the meals were all fresh. I would really recommend this restaurant, especially at lunch time when they are not so busy.

From the moment I walked through the door, I was charmed! The owner & top-notch chef, Juliana Kavanaugh, bent over backwards to create a memorable stay in New Zealand. The accommodations were comfortable, yet elegant. Service was over-the top! You won't be disappointed. Gwen R. Mississippi USA

Our three weeks motorbike holiday through New Zealand we had planned with the assistance of Tripadviser. We picked our daily distances what we wanted to drive and choose a place to sleep or a restaurant via the reviews of Tripadviser. Our last two nights on the South Island we had chosen " Escape to Picton " This was to our... More

Hello I am really surprised by this review, most love the suites and the stay here we try very hard to please, if someone does not want pastries and fresh croissants we do yogurt or omelettes or anything to French toast. Glass of wine on arrival and bucket of ice if needed. Whatever you require. There is nothing specific in... More

I have recently returned to New Zealand after a long absence and on my way up to Wellington I stopped for a few days at my favorite B&B in Picton. I have visited on numerous occasions and it never fails to impress. The rooms are still luxurious without pretension The staff are lovely as ever and accommodated all my requests... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the unique boutique - Escape to Picton and enjoyed a wonderful time. Our delux suite was sophisticated, spacious and complete with a super king deliciously comfortable bed. It was the extra touches that had a point of difference too like berries and fudge on the bedside tables, and a beautiful big bath centred... More

This boutique hotel is sensational and world class! It truly offers the weary traveller everything and does it with style and panache. From the moment you are greeted by the owners and friendly staff you are in a state of blissful relaxation. Such a wonderful contrast to the sterile match box hotel units overlooking a busy car park - the... More
