We arrived in Akaroa about lunch time and chose the L'Hotel for lunch. The service was outstanding and the meals were to our satisfaction and delivered promptly. A warm fire was burning which provided a homely feeling for the customers and the music was an acceptable level.

We went for a family lunch on a Sunday. Beautiful day, friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the Tier seafood platter to share, enough food for the 5 of us. Lovely outdoor sitting facing the see.

We stopped hear for dinner and the place was quite busy. Sat in the sheltered outdoor area under the heaters watching the bay. Service was quick and friendly. A decent selection of beers, I tried the Mac which was good. I ordered the green lip mussels and my partner had the grouper with fresh vegetables that were both very tasty.... More

I found this hotel at the last minute after a long drive to Akaroa. Tripadvisor paid off once again as it was just lovely! Our room was right over the restaurant and positioned right on the harbor. We drank coffee on our balcony in the morning and watched the boats sail by... perfection! I was worried about noise from the... More

We had just been on a dolphin harbour cruise on a grotty day, lots of fun, but very cold. Thought an open fire & mulled wine would be just the ticket & it was! Fabulous fire & the mulled wine was just mmmm! A wonderful time with good people in a happy & warm environment. My friend had left her... More

Had a beautiful lunch here on a gorgeous day overlooking the most picturesque bay. The Seafood was as fresh as could be (all caught locally) and the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. Would recommend a visit.

We booked room 3 for a couple of days over Easter. Although a little pricey L'hotel is in an excellent location. Room had a lovely balcony which was excellent for that morning croissant or evening champagne, clean comfortable studio with cooking facilities. Due to road closures we had thought we might not get across to Akaroa, on ringing the hotel... More

The rooms are very large with wonderful views of the Akaroa Harbour. A nice little balcony faces the water. There are only four rooms here with all of them above the bar and restaurant. The location is great but there is a lot of noise. Need to keep the windows closed. Even though the bar was closed for Labour Day... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. Not a good impression when you first pull into the carpark as it is at the back of the Hotel & another eating place next door. Carpark is dirty and climbing the outside stairs to the room you get all smells of cooking/frying food from below. This is the only entrance to... More

I stayed here for one night at the end of my NZ trip. Lovely clean room, glorious view from all rooms, good little balcony, great location. All good things. Had dinner downstairs - delicious food, but a little over-priced. Relaxed but attentive staff. And unlike other reviewers, not too noisy, good to hear people having fun. A huge big heater... More
