Akaroa Cottages looked fantastic on the Bookings.com site. However.. I had booked a room with twin beds. The nice young man on the desk said there wasn't any twin beds but there was a convertible couch. Got to our cottage. It was cold and dark and had started to rain. The heater was on low so it was cold. There... More

We loved our weekend stay at Akaroa cottages . It was the first time in seven years that my husband and I have been away together without our children . I had high expectations and they were all met . I loved how private the cottage felt and the view was perfect . My husband and I are creatures of... More

This was one perfect winter weekend away. Akaroa is cold in winter but arriving at our cottage we felt over joyed and warm from the start of checking in to the minute we checked out. The Cottage was amazing, Fire, Spa bath, massive bed, tv and a wee kitchen was all a couple needed. Although we had a Bush View... More

My husband and I stayed here in Feb, we were very impressed with the beautiful location and the excellent staff. Everyone one so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother. The accommodation was just right, the bed was incredibly comfy and the little extras like leaving supplies of milk, beverages etc. was a nice touch. I would suggest having... More

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Cosy fireplace, comfy bed and beautiful views over Akaroa. Cottage was clean and the young guy on reception was also very helpful and welcoming. Great having laundry facility available as well, although a drying rack for wet weather would be useful addition in the cottages (for stuff that cant go in dryer). If... More

We had one of the studio cottages with a huge spa bath and fireplace. The weather was miserable whilst we were in Akaroa so used both of these lots. The cottage had views of the sea, was well kitted out with a kitchenette- even provided oil, salt and pepper, plenty of towels comfy lounge seats.

Our journey to Akaroa was a long one, we had travelled down from Omarama and the last few miles down to Akaroa were very twisty and frustrating after a long drive. However, the journey was well worth it. On the approach into the town of Akaroa we saw the sign post for "Akaroa Cottages", and made the decision to investigate... More

The cottages are tucked away along a long gravel track from the main road and our bush cottage was set at the back of the site and very private, which was lovely. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the verandah with our own private lawn and shrubs, the car parked to one side of the cottage. The cottage was clean and... More

We had high expectations of our stay at Akaroa Cottages, but there were a few niggles which made our stay slightly disappointing. On arrival, we had quick check in and we were shown where our cottage was on a map. We were allocated the Bushside cottage, right at the top of site. There is a very steep gravel road which... More

Hello Sam, Thank you for taking to time to review our property. The seaview cottages are have different views and the Bushside cottage had a view at the time of the harbour even sitting down and from in bed. As we are in a down season and have more time between bookings and it is the ideal time for pruning... More

We recently stayed at Akaroa Cottages and we were surprised that our cottage was a shared cottage with an adjoining wall. The gas heater was turned off and the electric replacement was unstable and eventually stopped working on our last evening. There was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom, which when we complained the comment was "is that still... More

Hello Mr Gordon, Thank you for taking the time to write your review on your recent stay, We advertise on all 3rd party websites that our Seaview studio which was the room type you had selected is an interconnecting room. It is almost always the lower rate for this reason. The gas fire was only turned off at the wall... More
