Wonderful friendly hosts and an extremely characterful cottage. Our hosts Ann and Jack couldn't have been friendlier and gave us a choice of rooms and accommodation as well as offering advice on eating venues for dinner.. The rooms were charming and offered a peep of the Akaroa harbour, set amongst lovely gardens with fresh roses. Jack was up early to... More

We stayed one night on New Years Eve. Anne and Jack welcomed us and we're very gracious and hospitable. Comfortable room and bed in delightful period cottage. Private pool and lovely deck with great views. Highly recommended. Nigel & Geoff.

My husband Tom and sister in law stayed in Mulberry house on the last 2 nights of our holiday in New Zealand Jan . Feb. 2013 . While all of our accommodation and our experiences in NZ was just great , Anne and Jack and Mulberry House was the best. The house , the food , the surroundings and above... More

My partner and I stayed here for 1 night. What an absolute pleasure and delight it was to have the privelage of staying in wonderful accommodation and to meet Anne and Jack. The room was delightful with its own wee grass garden area. Clean and tidy, extremely comfortable bed. The hosts Anne + Jack made us soo welcome, we talked... More

My husband booked this accommodation as all the reviews read really well and I think the winning factor for him was the description of the breakfast each morning!! When we arrived Anne the owner was lovely and welcoming and invited us straight in to the kitchen and offered us a drink, making us feel right at home. We stayed in... More

Lovely hosts, helpful and wanting to ensure that your stay is good. Close to the waterfront and a gradual uphill walk from restaurants, ensure you know your way as Mulberry House is well hidden in the dark. It is wonderfully quiet and offers great views from the veranda where, if the weather is good, you will have breakfast. However there... More

We were looking for somewhere to stay for a weekend in Akaroa to end our holiday in NZ. Anne & Jack were wonderful hosts warm and very friendly and made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The first morning it was wet so we all just sat around for 2hrs chatting over breakfast as no-one felt inclined to... More

We arrived in Akaroa late afternoon on a Friday, so the Tourist Information office had a bit of a job to find us a place to stay and the only room available at Mulberry House did not have an en-suite bathroom, however Anne, our hostess, showed us a very nice bathroom just along the corridor which she said would be... My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights in the Mulberry Room - nice quiet, comfortable room with en suite. Friendly hosts and good breakfasts on the terrace with nice view. Short walk to harbour. Enjoyed trip on sailing ship Fox2 recommended by Anne. Many thanks.

We got there late in the day on a Saturday without reservation. We could not find anyplace to stay for one night, so we went to the Tourist Info Center. The lady at the reception contacted Anne the owner of Mulberry House who was not opened for that weekend. She accepted without hesitation to rent us a room for the... More
