The building is a beachside house split into 4. We stayed in the 'Penthouse'. The beach is a thin ribbon of pebbles covered at high tide on the other side of the road. You have limited parking spaces on a first come, first served and a wide car would easily block others- get there early. One retrieves the key from... More

Booked this place, sight unseen, completely by chance. So glad we did! The location is just off the beaten path but still very close to restaurants, shops, bars, the dolphin cruise, etc. My sister and I stayed in the beachside apartment, which was super comfortable, very tastefully furnished, and had a kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed. Bed was... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in the penthouse apartment. Firstly the good - the view wonderful, the kitchen is very well equipped and a 'real' fridge. The wardrobe area is huge, lots of racks and hanging space, mirrors, lights all great. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was nice. The laundry is great, and included for some... More

We've just returned from 2 nights spent in the Beachside Apartment. The house itself is set in a stunning and quiet location around a 15 minute walk from the bars and shops of the quaint Akaroa. The Beachside was well appointed, the bed was super comfy and the living area was perfect for our needs. The apartment is tastefuly furnished... More

This property is 15 minutes from the town centre and has commanding views over the water from the front rooms. Well equipped with BBQ and great kitchen if required and very quiet. Not the cheapest but good value for what you get! We had to get the keys from a locked box using a code previously provided which was a... More

A location a fair walk from the town area but in a wonderful position. Unfortunately we found entering via the bedroom on the ground level rather disconcerting. Other guests in other apartments couldn't find their way to their apartment on arrival. No one to help, lives on site. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was adequate. Two wine glasses and 8 champagne... Lovely atmosphere and just far enough out of town to provide perfect peace and quiet. Clean and very well equipped we stayed in the two person Beachside apartment. One night was not enough and we could have easily have stayed longer.

We are two couples and had booked the Seaview and Island rooms for four nights. We had a delightful space that suited us perfectly. A well equipped kitchen, lovely sitting room and dining area and a huge deck overlooking the lovely area that is the Banks Peninsula. This accommodation is a little way out of the centre of Akaroa, but... More

My family complete with 6 mth old on her first trip enjoyed the comforts of Akaroa on the Beach this week. The penthouse, deck apartment and smaller apartment were so comfortable, easy to relax in and inviting that we all wished we were staying longer. The access, peace and quiet, bird song and views were fantastic and we all plan... More

My husband and I stayed at Akaroa on the Beach for New Years Eve as a part of our 17 day South Island trip. We stayed in the Island Room (at the back of the property on the 2nd floor), which has only a bedroom and ensuite (no TV or kitchen, though it did have a bar fridge). The room... More
