As Christchurch residents, we have been to Akaroa many times over the years and stayed in many different places. Last time we did a lovely B+B but with the extended family in tow, we opted for something a bit bigger and more sumptuous. Akaroa House is situated up the hill at the end of the village. It has wonderful views,... More

We had a week at Akaroa House over New Years and we had a great time. The house is beautifully appointed with everything you could need for a great holiday. There is plenty of space and the kitchen is fantastic. Akaroa is one our favourite places in New Zealand so hopefully we'll get to stay here again when we are... More

This is the Best B&B we have stayed at in both NZ and Australia. The house has been immaculately restored and has gorgeous views of the Akaroa bay. Would highly recommend the place to anyone visiting NZ. The host is lovely and very helpful in giving tips on what to do and where to go in the area. As a... More

Hello Ellen - lovely to meet you both. Thank you so much for your review. Akaroa House is offered for Bed and Breakfast occasionally when I am in residence :) and can be rented as a whole house (five bedrooms/four bathrooms) for advanced bookings. Upstairs we can make the twin rooms into a "Kings" - so a few bed options.... More

This house is impeccable, two couples stayed for B&B (not always available). The host is lovely & made us feel very comfortable. I think it would be the best in Akoroa. Also within walking distance to shops & restaurants. Highly recommended. More

This is by far the best house in NZ that we have ever rented. Lovely atmosphere, views and a really homely feel, with all that we could have asked for. Perfect for a large group, family reunion or wedding. Our french themed weekend was made even better by our surroundings. And finding a welcoming basket of goodies on our arrival... More

Thank you so much for writing your review, and it was such a shame your hubby missed out on what would have been a lovely celebration with your friends for your birtthday. I think you are coming back in February - so that is terrific - have a lovely summer. Best wishes Alison More

The house is beautifully restored and set in a tranquil location with stunning views. The accomodation was very spacious for three couples and two children. Great sized rooms and 3 bathrooms. Would love to go back.........and... More

I was in Akaroa for a conference, with a few of my friends late Nov'2010. The house was everything that was promised and more..the view from the backyard was breathtaking and the house was impeccable. It had ample space, a good kitchen and enough beds and bathrooms, which was the biggest concern. Overall, this place is highly recommended and I... More

This self catering home was our first stop on a 3 week trip to New Zealand and it made the 17+ hour flight and 22 hour travel day seem worth while. We stopped at the small local grocery on our way into town and picked up some wine and a few things for dinner. The gourmet kitchen had everything you... More
