We spent 2 nights at room with a view with another couple. We enjoyed the quiet cottage, just near the village. You get bay views, with a quiet atmosphere. It is conveniently located on the edge of town near the lighthouse. The rooms were simple, spacious. We shared a bath with the other couple. Rosemary treated us with a nice... More

Rosey was the most hospitable hostess. The house was a gem built in the 1800s. The room was huge and homely. Great homemade lemon meringue pie as a bonus was to die for. Great breakfast. Great verandah, with a fantastis aspect of Akoroa. There's not much Rosey doesn't know about this wonderful gem of the south island of NZ. Highly... More

We returned to Akaroa to walk the Banks Peninsular track for a second time and had enjoyed Rosemary's "Room with a view" B&B last time so we chose to reprise the decision to stay there. Great location a short stroll to Akaroa village combined with a host who made us feel welcomed and provided the best local tourist information that... More

This place and its host are utterly charming, both possessing all that is good about this harbourside town. Rosemary makes a wonderful breakfast with moreish warm croissants and fruit compote with her own homegrown peaches. She shares her local knowledge and gives advice about the area and its attractions in her gentle, friendly manner. This is the place to stay... More

The room is spacious and felt like home, of course with a view of the bay. Rosemary who owns the place is the drawcard of this property. Her breakfast is great and her home baked croissant is divine. Rosemary's knowledge of akaroa and the neighbouring bays is superb! Her recommendations where to dine and booking us herself was very klind.... More

After spending three nights at Rosemary's house "Room with a View" we cannot imagine anywhere better to stay, or a nicer, more welcoming hostess. It is a charming, historic house in a beautiful garden with lovely roses. Our room, with a lovely view of the harbor, was spacious and comfortable with a good bed. Although our room had a TV,... Stayed with Rosemary in her humble abode, and it was indeed home away from home. We were given good directions as we had called before arriving and located her house with no issue! Each rooms sleeps 2 max so with only 2 rooms you might not be able to find too large a crowd which would be manageable for Rosemary.... More

Rosemary and her home are warm and welcoming. Situated within walking distance of south Akaroa the house has a beautiful garden and views of the bay. Our room was large with a comfortable bed and plenty of space. The bed came with electric blankets which were great. There is a shared bathroom with toilet which wasn't a problem for us.... More

We had a very enjoyable stay with Rosemary - her home is perfect - wonderful view, verandah, lovely garden full of delicious fruit and beautiful plants. The house is delightful and full of charm. Rosemary is amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and we enjoyed her company very much. The place to stay in Akaroa. Jenny and John UK
