When we went up to Fremantle for the Night tour of Fremantle Prison we wanted to stay overnight within walking distance of the prison and a quick search on the internet brought us to the Fremantle Colonial Accommodation website. The location was ideal as it is literally just across the road from the prison and although information and pictures on... More

We stayed in the upstairs room #3. A nice blend of old style feel with basic modern facilities. The house is adorable and lovingly restored. It was empty of other guests or we didn't notice them. Pros. Close to the heart of Freo. 5 min walk to the cafe strip. Great opportunity to stay in a period house. Easy entry... More

Advertised as a B & B. It is just a B.....there is no breakfast. This not made clear to us until after payment and checking into the place. Sort of clean, bed comfortable, coffee and tea tray in bottom of closet, no shelf. Coffee was instant in a unlabeled jar; no thanks. Shower rose would not stay up & leaked... More

Bed was comfy and bathroom facilities adequate but if you're taller than 4ft, you won't enjoy the shower. Some things are in slight disrepair which makes sense as the place has been on the market for a while. The reason I won't ever stay again? Mosquitos and silverfish. No screens on the windows meant I couldn't get fresh air because... More

I booked accommodation here 4 months in advance of my intended weekend in Freo with my girlfriends who all travelled from a reasonable distance and then a week before we were due to check in my booking was cancelled becuase another guest was extending their stay. This is unacceptable really regardless of the reasoning behind it; it's the whole point... More

We stayed in the terrace building right on the high street at the front. The building is for sale and our room was the one featured on the poster so presumably is the best in the block. Plenty of colonial style but a bit cramped for two plus suitcases. Bed comfy, bathroom ok but colonial means not modern. Very nice... More

We stayed in the terrace on High St, in the ground floor unit #1 and it was larger than expected. The unit consisted of a large bedroom, a spacious TV room next door, and adjacent kitchen and a cosy bathroom. The double bed was very comfortable and the rooms were all very neat and clean, albeit very colonial in style,... More

We had booked to stay in the one bedroom apartment but received an email letting us know that we had been upgraded to cottage accommodation at no extra fee. We stayed in Cottage 4 and found it to be a very generously sized 2 bedroom house in a very quiet location next to the prison. The cottage was very comfortable,... More

We were so looking forward to our 2 nights stay at the Fremantle colonial accommodation. We stayed in cottage 6 next to the prison and were told on our arrival that there was no tv as the previous tenan'ts children had fiddled with the tv but that someone was going to fix it that afternoon. No one turned up and... More

We recently spent 3 days at the Colonial Accommodation and found it to suit our every need. We travelled with an infant and unlike many other accommodations of similar style upon request we were provided with a portacot and high chair at no extra charge, AND specifically given a room on the lower level, saving the worry of stairs. The... More
