I've been fortunate enough to stay twice at Fothergills when I've been working for The Literature Centre. It's a gorgeous property, with fascinating pictures and art everywhere you look. I love the Samson room in particular - private and luxurious and with a view of the sea from the beautiful balcony. The breakfasts are yummy, it's extremely clean, and I... More

Beautiful old Victorian house with some super pieces of art both inside and outside the house. House keeper was friendly and efficient. Bed very comfortable. Would recommend breakfast if not included - great continental spread with fresh seasonal fruit, great coffee and house poached eggs cooked to perfection. Easy stroll into town and close to jail and arts centre. House... More

My husband and I arrived exhausted in Fremantle after a 26 hour grueling journey from California. We were greeted by the gracious, charming owner, an Englishman, like us, and welcomed into his beautiful Victorian B&B as if we were family. The house is adorned with wondrous works of art and furnished with fabulous antiques. Our room was The English room... More

Wife and I arrived pm Friday and left early Monday morning for our flight. The room was clean and comfortable, up a short flight of stairs. The balcony at the end of the hall had views over the outer harbour and Fremantle central. The breakfasts cost $10 each but were well worth the money and the staff cooked each breakfast... More

Exceptionally great little place, just a stroll from the city center and the harbour (do not miss Little Creatures). Very friendly and helpful staff. Different interior in every room - interesting and cozy :) Love the cows! Will absolutely be our first choice when in Freo next time.

We stayed at Fothergills in April and were absolutely delighted with everything. We stayed in the English room and had the whole house to ourselves. There is so much to look at in the house - from the magnificent art to the beautiful furniture, and of course the view over Fremantle from the balcony - best enjoyed with a glass... More

Having never visited Fremantle before, our experience was made less than 'wonderful' by the 'grumpy' manager. We got lost getting there, due to our GPS not understanding the many no right turns, and then sending us in totally the wrong direction. I rang the manager and told her we were running late. When we finally found the place, we parked... More

We stayed as a party of 8 across three rooms at the start of February. This is a fantastic place. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, but the best bit is the extra space that you can use downstairs and outside in the courtyard. It really is a home-from-home experience - plus, of course, the luxury of a cooked... More

My husband I stayed at Fothergills in the English room with the four poster bed for our wedding anniversary. Having recently travelled to the UK we decided to try a B&B to see how our home city compared with England. We were not disappointed. The room is spacious and decorated with period furniture. The best part was that we had... More
