Stayed here the week of Xmas including Xmas day/Boxing Day. Staff were brilliant, very approachable and helpful regarding places to visit! Room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast on Xmas day/Boxing Day was lovely and the owners touch of gifting us Australian souvenirs (vegimite & honey) made being away from home abit more bearable.

Two old beautiful hoses. Flooded with an amazing collection of interior and exterior art works. The owners are or were obviously travellers and collected along the way. Our room was huge as was the bathroom. We also had a balcony, which was an unrequested delight.

Just my second stay in a B&B and it reinforces my preference for hotel rooms. Unfortunately, Fremantle WA does not have many hotels. Fothergills has charm and lots of artwork, which they advertise, but unless you're staying in all the time (and why would you when you're on holiday?) it's not a plus for me. The room I stayed in... Loved this place, beautiful building, amazing rooms and service. Everything was quaint, perfectly styled and could have stayed longer. In front rooms facing verandah you do get a little noise from road out front

This establishment has a lovely ambience to it, I found the staff friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in is called the Holdsworth, all rooms are named after historical folks who played a part in the development of the area. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Such an unpleasant experience. We returned to our room after a lovely day out to find a note that incorrectly claimed that we had knowingly booked a room that was unsuitable for children and that if our child cried in the night we would have to immediately leave. It ruined our stay and I would not recommend this establishment to... More

My husband booked this accommodation as we were going to a concert at the Fremantle Arts Centre just down the road. The exterior of the building is beautiful as is the interior however I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. There were lots of hairs in the (very small) shower and around the toilet. Yuck. Considering it... More

I am so sorry to read of your unhappy visit but thank you for raising your concern. As you correctly state we are a non-smoking establishment and there are signs in all the rooms showing this clearly. Nevertheless from time to time we have people who blatantly disregard the house rule. Last week we asked guests to curtail their stay... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights in the O'Connor room at Fothergills. The room was very large and well-appointed. The bathroom was added after-the-fact in the corner of the room - not for those who suffer from claustrophobia, but the shower was good and provided all we needed. We had access to a nice veranda. The breakfast room and... More

Thank you for writing. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in the O'Connor Room. We recently upgraded the room and are thrilled that you stayed just after we fitted the beautiful new sideboard/cabinet hand-made in West Australian sheoak timber by a skilled local craftsman. We have set out to give an experience of West Australian art -... More

WOW. I request to stay here every time I am in Fremantle. Fothergills has the right mix of period charm with an upbeat modern freshness. There is an antique feel without the dusty environment. You can spend an afternoon just sitting reading and soaking up the atmosphere. Located just above the old prison (also worth a look) and a short... More
