To celebrate my husband's birthday we decided to host a dinner for friends here and decided that we would stay the night afterwards. We took advantage of The Golden Age rate for those over 55 and thought it was a good deal all round. We checked in and the welcome could not have been better from a very charming young... More

Stayed here for 10 days in August 2010. Fabulous Hotel with great service, every member of staff really tries their best to help. The Hotel is in a great location, far enough away from the town to be very quiet but just a 5min stroll to the bars and cafes of Tavira. Arabian themed night was brilliant, but could have... More

Stayed in this pousada for 4 nights from 29thSeptember. Pousada is an old converted convent and quite beautiful. Very peaceful and great for a retreat within Tavira. We stayed in one of the double rooms which was lovely (superior rooms and suites also available). Great bathroom, lovely comfortable king size bed-mini bar etc. Very good standard of cleaning. 2 lovely... More

In a small square, surrounded by white houses and cobbled streets sits the Pousada do Convento da Graca. At first sight a forbidding burnt orange building soon opens up to a cool small reception area with slab floors and the odd Moorish sofa. The weary traveller is met with courtesy and efficiency by the staff. This is an elegant and... More

Tavira was our family's last stop in Portugal after two weeks of wonderful experiences. The night before we had stayed at the Pousada at Evora and had a delightful stay both in respect of the Pousada and Evora. The staff at Evora had said that the Pousada at Tavira was even nicer than that at Evora. It is no reflection... More

We stayed in November 2009 at the Convento da Graca on our way home and had an outstandingly good impression of the pousada. The hotel as the name suggests, is a renovated convent with bags of character and history. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly and spoke excellent English. We were given a beautiful room overlooking the gardens... More

This is a rather new poussada opened in a former convent. Accordingly, it is very inward looking, with the rooms giving on the inside courtyard, which also hosts the outside area of the bar and of the breakfast room. The bar also has a terrace with a city view. The rooms are a bit dark and loaded with furniture, but... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff are polite but do keep very much in the background, maybe this is what some of the previous criticisms were about? It is a genteel kind of hotel with no touristy gimmicks, which suited us well. It is great to be staying in a hotel (and town) which has a completely mixed... More

This was our second stay in Tavira and in the Convento de Graca. We had a wonderful holiday there last year and were truly looking forward to our repeat visit this September when we booked in early August. About 10 days before our departure we were informed by email from a central booking "person" that there was an unforeseen event... More
