Just home from a 3 night stay at the Porta Nova with some friends. We all agreed that the value for money here was incredible and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a decent standard of accommodation for a very reasonable price. Reception was very helpful, and able to answer various queries we had regarding taxi, restaurant bookings,... More

Stayed at the Porta Nova for a week in October half board. Our room was a good size, with a large balcony with lovely view over the town, must say it was spotlessly clean. Would have been nice to have a kettle in room to make a drink. The rooftop bar is lovely, its lovely to sit at night and... More

Stayed 1 week in November room only & we were very happy with this hotel. Our room was a good size, modern decor & nice bathroom. There was a lot of storage & hangers in wardrobe & a very good full length mirror. We had a large balcony with fantastic views over the town, river & sea in the distance.... More

Over 80% of reviewers rate this hotel as average or better. The remainder complain that it's not really 4*, the rooms need updating, the beds are hard, the WiFi is iffy etc etc All these comments have an degree of truth but the hotel is centrally located, the rooms are large and clean, the pool area is very pleasant and... This hotel has a 4* rating. The rooms are a good size and clean and fresh. Just to note they do not have tea making facility which would be a good idea as between 1am and breakfast at 7.30 there is no way to get a tea or coffee. We were all inclusive but have to say the food is... More

I stayed here for 9 nights in October on a B&B basis. Despite booking a "city view" double via alpharooms, I was allocated a twin with a view of the car park. After a complaint and an hour or so I was moved to a south facing twin. The room was a reasonable size and clean but the decor was... More

I stayed here with a walking holiday group last week, and loved the view from my room, waking up to a beautiful sunrise each morning was very special. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were excellent, and the easy stroll into Tavira centre made this a very well situated hotel. The top floor bar had superb views, and... More

Stayed here for a week with three lady friends. Pleased with friendliness of staff all over the hotel. Bedrooms were roomy and kept clean but were a bit noisy as we faced the main road. As we had booked all inclusive we found the food, which was nicely prepared and which i might add was in a lovely clean restaurant,... More

Stayed for 7 nights on a room only basis, hotel very handy as the town centre is only a 5 or 6 minute walk. Standard twin room, air conditioning average and a little noisy, bath with shower hose, plenty of fresh towels, water was never too hot. Fridge in the room was handy for water and juice, shopped locally for... More
