Stayed in Porta Nova for two weeks, all inclusive. Although, most the staff were pleasant, one barman had a serious attitude problem. He aptly fits the description of being passive aggressive without reasonable provocation. The food was very basic with the limited option of two dishes per meal. A very boring place to stay for a young person. Most of... More

We stayed at the Hotel Porta Nova for 3 nights as part of a packaged walking holiday. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. We did not have our dinners there as there are some interesting restaurants in lovely Tavira. We would definitely stay there again should we return to Tavera (This was our secend visit to the... Thankyou to Porta Nova Hotel in Tavira, we arrived at 10 p.m. our first night and went to the rooftop bar where we had a beautiful view of Tavira. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Our room also had a lovely sea and pool view. Didn't get to eat in the Hotel but heard from other guests it was good.... More

Six of us went golfing and booked this hotel for our accommodation. Upon arrival check in was fairly straightforward and a twin room with breakfast was £240 for six nights. After seeing the breakfast we found this to be good value indeed. The rooms were clean but could do with a little TLC. Hot water was plentiful and towels were... More

Stayed here with my wife from 20th March 2014 for 5 nights. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring Tavira and for the fantastic budget price this hotel fulfilled our every need! The Panoramic bar on the top floor was a great surprise ,with a huge variety of drinks, cocktails etc. We visited several Portuguese restaurants close by and... More

We stayed here in November 2013. We found the hotel to be very good value for the price as a base to explore the Eastern Algarve. The rooms are basic but clean. The panaramic bar is excellent for great views of Tavira. There are some very cheap restaurants and bars nearby. We would definately stay again.

Low price, yes, but the discomforts made up for it. Having requested a double, it was annoying to find small, very hard single beds instead, each with one tiny pillow. The room size was barely adequate, the decor drab and we had a view of the parking area. The dresser lamp could not be plugged in since there was no... More

I have stayed there twice now and if booked at the right time it is excellent value. Hopefully going back in October and looking forward to it. Close to the town but far away to be quiet if you wish. The bar on the roof gives a fantastic view of the town. It's worth going for a drink up there... More

I stayed here twice in recent months, a week in November and another week in January, as a single visitor occupying a twin room and on either side of the hotel. The north facing rooms benefit from the sun in the evening, the poolside rooms have the morning sun and will be noisier in the summer. Location is good, a... More
