Full of beautiful furniture and fixtures - for example the tiling in my bathroom and the table and cupboards in the breakfast room. Breakfast is around a large table with doors opening on to the garden and swimming pool. Delightful

Ponte the lima is a very beautiful village and this manor house is the perfect spot to choose for 1 or more days. We stayed here for 3 nights and we have visited Braga, Viana do Castello and Valenca. All within 45 minutes drive. The house is elegant and has kept it's original characteristics. The garden is a nice place... More

This is a real find. A beautiful old house furnished with antique furniture and with a lovely garden and swimming pool. You would never think that such an unassuming exterior from the street could hide such a lovely place. The family who own and run it are charming and speak excellent English, and nothing is too much trouble. We had... More

This was a real find... just a few minutes up the hill from the town centre, we had a lovely room in this oh! so friendly guesthouse. We stayed four nights and used it as a base to explore the area. A nice small pool in the lovely garden was an added bonus. The owners could not do enough for... More

Great location, beautifully decorated old family home that's been renovated, very clean, comfortable beds, friendly owner & a adequate breakfast. We were there when it was quite chilly so didn't use the pool but it looked lovely, set in nice gardens with two friendly dogs

Good sized house a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Rooms clean, traditional and good size. Garden with small poo/ loungers. Owner bought a jug of lemonade to us each afternoon, which was a nice touch.. The owner is thoughtful, helpful and respectful. It is quiet. Breakfast was traditional, if a little disappointing (processed ham/cheese), altho the option... More

We were very happy that we were picked up and dropped of at the bus station and even happier when we were given a choice of rooms. We chose a very nice upstairs room with views of the garden and pool. It was fascinating looking at the curios and antiques in the house[apart from the animal heads staring down from... More

Having arrived into the town in late afternoon during our Camino walk we went to the local tourist office only to be informed that as there was a festival on over the weekend most hotels etc. were full. However with the aid of an iPhone & Wi-Fi we located and booked Casa do Pinheiro – Ponte de Lima. The exterior... More

positioned just a few minutes walk from the main hub of the town, we stayed at the hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting friends in the town. From the street the hotel didn't look very exciting but having found the right green door (all properties in the town seem to have green doors!) and rung the bell it was like... More

Do not be put off by the solid green door that drops onto the doorstep of a busy street shooting out of the beautiful town of Ponte de Lima. Once you ring the bell and are greeted by the family who own the hotel, you will be amazed at what is behind the door. Antiques and unusual furniture, beautifully decorated... More
