4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

First off - there are two Malvasia properties in town. We stayed at the "new" Malvasia, which is further out at the far end of the rock than is the "old" one. They also have two separate reception offices, and we made the initial mistake of stopping at the "old" one first, but a lovely woman there was kind enough... More

Firstly the positives: the location is good, and the room was good too. However we had two major problems. Firstly we needed to leave just after 8am and they didn't start breakfast until 8.30, so we had organised for a minimal breakfast to be available for us at 8. We tried to pay for the hotel the night before to... More

Very cute rooms built into the mountain side. Great location in the old lower town of Monemvasia. Best to bring in small bags as you have to park your car outside the 'castle' area and walk into the town. Lots of little shops and restaurants in the town to explore. Great to have good AC in the summer heat!

I have been visiting Monemvasia for over thirty years and have always enjoyed the experience. Nowadays a lot of the old buildings in the lower town have been very sympathetically restored with modern facilities, yet still retain the ambience of yesteryear. The New Malvasia Hotel is an excellent example of this. We had booked 2 rooms for a couple of... More

This hotel was one of our best experiences in Greece. The rooms were incredibly clean, and our particular room had a large bathroom. Wifi, tv, air conditioning and hair dryers were standard features in each room. The owner was very accommodating. We did not book ahead of time, and upon arrival, asked for a room with a large bathroom. Breakfast... More

We stayed in the older less expensive part of the hotel during Holy week. Charming old style buildings and rooms with thick walls, our two opened onto a walled patio and as with most hotels here are/part of the old fort. Rooms were clean , breakfast more than ample and served with lovely greek smiles. Loved every moment and would... More

Monemvasia is one of the most incredible places I've never heard of, and the Malvasia was a great place to call home while we were there. The room isn't quite 5-star, but I'd give the hotel 5-stars because I wouldn't want to deter anyone from staying here. Views from the balcony were priceless, as were those from the patio out... More

Well the whole thing was marvellous. We stayed three nights in the beginning of spring with rainy and cloudy weather. But i have to admit that everything was fine. The spacious rooms, the breakfast, the smile of all the staff, hospitality and of course ....the view. I cannot find anythinf wrong in the hotel to describe, except that there should... More
