It was quite an experience staying 3 nights inside the castle of monemvasia. The charming hotel had been beautifully restored. The rooms were very comfortable and well decorated. I had fond memories of waking up to the sound of birds and the view of the sea. Theophano has been very welcoming and even made me vegan friendly breakfast that was... More

During our recent visit to Monemvassia my girlfriend and I spent a couple of days staying in this charismatic family run hotel. From the moment we entered the hotel we were welcomed with a cold drink by the hotel owner. She was kind to provide us with maps and expert advice on what is worth visiting in kastro as well... We chose this hotel for our 2 night stay in Monevasia because of the lovely images on their website. We were so happy to find not only was the website a true likeness to the hotel but it surpassed our expectations in every way! We own a small hotel ourselves on the island of Santorini and so we appreciated the... More

The hotel is very charming and beautifully renovated. The spot where it seats is one of the best in the castle. The rooms are simple but nice. The bathroom could be better done and at least have a glass at the shower. The lobby is gorgeous and the furniture and art design special. Our experience was tough because we met... More

The owners have done a great job renovating this beautiful old house in the heart of Monemvasia. Our rooms were very comfortable and well equipped and we had a lovely private terrace with a sea view. Fani was very welcoming, and her warmth and kindness was particularly appreciated by my elderly mother who was finding the famous Monemvasia cobblestones a... More

As stated in other reviews, you can't fault this beautiful hotel for decor and ambience. Fani is very proud of her special hotel. I would also emphasise the importance of not taking luggage on wheels. We have trawled our wheels over cobblestones before but not like the ones in Monemvasia! Leave your big luggage in the car and take a... More

A lovingly restored boutique hotel located at the far end of the castle. Fani, the owner, greeted us warmly and proudly explained to us the family history and the painstaking process of renovation. Later when she became aware that it was my husbands birthday she generously arranged a bottle of wine at dinner that evening. The hotel is beautifully decorated... More

The Theophano Art Hotel is beatifully situated and fitted out in old stone buildings. Breakfast is taken on a lovely terrace and its a short walk to the swimming platform. The hostesses are delightful and make the stay perfect. Note the hotel is a good 10 minute walk from main gate so take a small bag (no wheels) or pre-arrange... More

Fani is justifiably proud of the work she has put into converting the previously ramshackle building. It is beautiful, simple & tranquil. Right on the castle ramparts with beautiful views yet very close to the 'town'. Walk down some stone steps nearby and you find a secret swimming area. Our room was small but lovely. Marble floored and had double... More
