The hotel opened quite recently after years off careful restoration to the building. The result is extremely pleasant. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. There is a lovely terrace with stunning views on the top. Delightful home made breakfast in the courtyard or at a large antique table. Music room, library and easy access to the sea for a... More

Monemvasia is stunning, and Theophano's typifies the settlement, with quirky rooms (I stayed in the old water cistern!) and an all homemade breakfast with jams, yogurts, cakes and more. Service is very personal.

We stayed here in early June 2014 for 3 nights. Our arrival welcome was rather unfortunate: we opted to travel by bus from Athens rather than to rent a car because I do not drive and my partner had decided that he did not want to drive. The journey took more than 9 hours in total as we had to... More

A first class hotel, combining stunning location, beautiful architecture, a beautiful room and a wonderful personal welcome. We had a large room : very calm and cool, an oasis of rest in Monembasia. Just to imagine that all the furniture, every single item of the hotel had to be taken to the hotel in a cart, because cars are not... More

My girlfriend and I spend a couple of days of our vacation in Theophano in late June (2014). It was an overall wonderful experience, as the location at the outskirts of the old walls coupled with the fact that the hotel itself was very tastefully decorated, were unique indeed. The owner of the hotel (Mrs. Fani) and the hostess (Mrs.... More

A first class hotel, combining stunning location, beautiful architecture, a beautiful room and a wonderful personal welcome. We only stayed there for one night in the course of a touring holiday but would happily have stayed there for longer. We had a beautifully furnished room with private balcony, together with access to the roof garden. The personal welcome from the... More

Phani, the owner of the hotel, was really friendly and helpful. In the morning she made a greek breakfast with homemade marmelade and cake which was amazing. Plus, we had the pleasure to enjoy it while looking at the sea. The building is really nice both, from the outside and the inside. The rooms were really cozy and well equipped... More

We stayed at Theophano for 2 nights and made it our base for seeing the area. The place was recommended to us from previous guests and we also reviewed the commentary on trip advisor. We had a room with access to the roof Terence with wonderful views of the stars at night. The host Fani was very accommodating with suggestions... More

Tastefully restored and beautifully decorated 17C building, in one of the best locations in town. Top rooms have a private balcony with 360 views of the ocean, medieval town and fortified cliffs above. Breakfast was a bit limited compared to the usual offered in Greece. Idyllic small town with a maze of cobbled streets, tunnels and steps. The hotel can... More

It is a very small establishment, a converted family house like many of the Monemvasia hotels. We had booked rooms with "Sea View", which, in this establishment's definition meant that, if you are in a side room with a tiny porch facing a stone wall, and if you had a long enough neck to stretch around the corner, you could...
