Given a choice between a room in the main building or another building a block away, we selected the latter for the general light airy feel, with windows in both directions, and the outlook from the bedroom to the sea (photo). It had been freshly painted in beachhouse colours and was over two levels. The downsides were walking along the... More

We stayed in Ruth's for 1 night and we loved it. It is a very old hotel, but they apparently know how to keep up with the trends, it is made very contemporary, full of Danish design vases and candle holders, rooms were very scandinavianly simple, we loved it. We asked for a king size bed but there wasn't anything... More

Thank you for the review NiyaYN. It is great to read how you clearly have enjoyed the Ruths Hotel Experience and I appreciate your comment about the facilities in the room and the size of the bed wasn´t a key factor for enjoying your stay. Thank you for the visit and the positive comments, kind regards Jan from Ruths Hotel More

The hotel is in a nice location close to the beach and local restaurants, but a lot further away from Skagen than I realised. There is parking next to the hotel but it's a bit limited. The hotel itself looks beautiful. Very nicely designed and decorated. Therefore it's disappointing that attention to detail and service was average. Check-in experience: Lovely... More

Dear Claire P - Thank you very much for the review and thank you for the kind rating considering that there clearly was several mistakes on our behalf during your visit in July. I have read all of your comments thoroughly however I am not going to answer everything in details here. Though I would like to make a few... More

We flew from Copenhagen to Aalborg, the closest airport to Skagen, and then drove. Skagen is called the Nantucket of Denmark and is just as quiet as Nantucket in the off season with a little activity on weekends. The light is beautiful and architecture typically Danish, and Ruth's is the place to stay. Occupancy was low at the end of... More

The staff, the location, the restaurant , the rooms (and I got to see 5 of them since we were with family - and they were all perfect - even our dogs got special service in our room - I think Ruth's hotel is among the best hotels I have visited in many years .

This beautiful hotel is lying very close to the beach in the dunes on the northern coast of Jutland. The beach and the dunes are unspoiled nature and the atmosphere at Ruth's is modern stylish and luxurious with it's roots in the Danish culture. The food and service are of an excellent standard. Gl. Skagen is quiet and not too... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a high quality quaint (and beautifully renovated) hotel in tiny Old Skagen. To really experience the atmosphere of the place you need to book a room in the main building rather than one of the annexes. Our junior suite was reasonably spacious, very quiet, and with a fantastic light (do remember to pull... More

Spent 3 days at this very classic and beautiful hotel. The rooms were nice and new, with old fashioned style. The brasserie was superb and the food great. Over all the best was the closeness to the ocean. Even though the weather was grey you heard the sea at night and always had the special light of Skagen.
