We stayed in the Strandhotellet which is part of Ruths hotel and dined at the hotel's gourmet restaurant.
Although recently rewamped, very clean and in line with the summer theme of Skagen, the room and hotel does not justify 2500 kr price tag. It is marketed as a cosy unpretentious summer hotel - but priced as a 5 star hotel.
The 6 course gourmet dinner was overpriced and far from "among the best restaurants in the country" as advertised by the hotel. And beware when they ask you if you want still or sparkling mineral water, that is 80 kr. per person - for mineral water ad libitum! Outrageous by any standard and ridiculous in a restaurant of this standard.
