great hotel, great location on the edge of the old city. very short 5 minute walk down narrow cobblestone street to all the sights and sounds of old Riga. we had room 337, jr. suite. nice big room with king bed, tv, fridge, stereo, desk and lots of closet space. there is also a separate room you walk up two... I stayed here with 11 friends in July and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monte Kristo! The standout bonus was the hotels location! Ideally located near some great bars, restaurant's & shops in the 'old town'. The only thing that let the hotel down was the breakfast - average at best! Great stay though!

It is in the city centre, 100m from the bus to/from the airport, and has a reasonable price and kind staff (though some more smiling faces wouldn't hurt). The room I got with my wife was small, clean, but with a strange smell of plastics, but for a 1-night stay it was not a problem. Breakfast was ok, and the... More

Unbeatable location - Stepping out of the Monte Kristo deposits you right in the Old Town of Riga and within yards of great bars and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff; the receptionist was wonderful, the laundry service was great and really cheap, and the breakfast was nice too. One minor irritant was some drunk Russians in the room next door who... More

Location and price - very good. Perfect breakfast, big choice of meals. Easy access to all Riga tourist sights and to the downtown. Free toiletries in the bathroom and small hi-fi system in the room. There was a small LCD TV in the room as well. Bed was mediocre, interior of the room was a little bit outdated. Wi-Fi was... More

This hotel was recommended by a friend and I have no complains. Great location! You could walk to it from bus station. Although we didnt because it was raining and didnt want to deal with it. And, you are in Old Town already! So. What else could you want. We book a superior room for a very good price, less... More

We stayed in the triple room for two nights. Cheap as a hostel but without the fear of picking a "party" hostel. They are digging up the road opposite so there was some morning noise! Breakfast was nice, standard continental with some local food - savoury pancakes and rye bread. The room was dark but it was all about the... More

this hotel is very nearly perfect: the staff are very friendly, the location is perfect.......just a two minute stroll into the centre of the old town and just across the road from the bus stop to the airport. The rooms very traditional so if your looking for modern this not the place for you. We never ate in the restaurant... More

Entering the hotel the first I saw were the beautiful paintings on the wall. Splendid. In every little corner one can find something interesting, a wooden barrel, or a ship sack with the hotel's name, tiny little ship models. I felt myself on a boat. And I loved it. If you like the medieval nautical style you will enjoy staying... More
