I selected the Forums Hotel for my recent two-day stay in Riga based on location and price. It proved to be a good choice in both areas. Nothing fancy here but a good solid value hotel. Nicely located on the edge of Riga's wonderful Old Town with easy access to cafes, restaurants, shopping and public transportation. Room was of decent... More

We were 6 guys on a weekend break. For us this was the ideal place. Super location, super value, rooms were basic but clean and the staff helpful. There were issues on checkout whereby some other guests tried to charge drinks to our room but staff quickly dealt with it. It suited us given we were 6 lads but I... More

Looking at the other reviews I really cannot understand why some people had a bad time. The staff was very helpfuland kind - sometimes even to my numerous, annoying requests. Internet fast, breakfast worth the deal. Total price - considerably cheap. Quiet and perfectly located. The room had a bath and a mini bar. TV, though, had only 4 channels,... More

The room was tiny, we could hardly move, it was very warm, no a.c. and we could not open the window because there was a very noisy pub just under it with tables on the sidewalk. They asked us to pay in advance at the reception, they claimed that the hotel was full so we couldn't get another room. the... More

Pros: -Close to city center, railway, tram and bus station and market place. Very good location! -Staff @ reception is very friendly, willing to do an extra effort if needed. -Reasonable price category. -Breakfast is ok. -Rooms are clean. Cons: -There seems to be a problem with the plumbing, sometimes causing an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Solved by pouring... More

The Forums seems to be in a great location on the fringe of the old town of Riga but it has the immense drawback of being right next door to a hostel where drinkers, mostly young, gather from early evening until the small hours and make a non-stop din. A good night's sleep in any room on the street is... More

Good central hotel. Easy to get to from airport can see hotel as soon as you get off bus bus fares are very cheap in Latvia. Pleasant room but a bit small, good size bathroom everything spotlessly clean. It was a bit noisy from the hostel next door and the building sight but we found the double glazing very good... More

Considering the price the hotel was ok. Location is excellent, breakfast good enough and the free wi-fi in use. We asked the silent room and we got one from the top floor. Only noise came from the room next to us where some young British/Scottish/Irish dudes had their own fun. Room itself was a small one, view to chimney stack... More

Backpacker Hostel at the front is very noisy in the evenings. Construction next door is very noisy Mon-Frid 7.00am-6.00pm. Bar at rear of hotel also generates noise though music does go off at 10.00. Random drunks and fighting in back alley behind hotel goes on till 5.00am. Hotel has just bought fans to deal with heat but open windows (no... More
