My sister, daughter, and I had been in Riga for a few days at another hotel, the Europa, which was nice, and had an incredible breakfast. We left to go to Liepaja for a few days, and then came back to Riga before catching a flight back to the States, and my sister wanted to try the Metropole. Not worth... more

We stayed in the Metropole for two nights during the New Year. The hotel was nice, but perhaps a little worn out and missing some details, that would easily make this a even more better hotel. We had a big room on the third floor, which was clean and ok. Cozy room, but ugly lamps that did not fit in... more

I'm actually writing the review from the hotel itself! As this was my first visit to Riga I didn't really know what to expect and the hotel really impressed me. The check-in process was efficient and fast, and the in general the staff were very nice and knew excellent English which helped quite a bit! As far as the location... more

Just returned from weekend in Riga. Booked triple room (for 3 adults) . I asked them to put us in a quiet room but as all the family rooms were facing the front (and hence the noise of the trams outside), they put us on the 6th floor. Thank god they did as the noise of the trams from 6am... more

The Metropole is good value! Excellent location for Old Town, Opera, Markets, Cinema, Bus Station and just a short walk to the Occupation Museum (which was really interesting.) The hotel staff were very efficient, helpful and spoke good English. Beautiful stained glass windows on the stairs. Loved the late breakfast on Sunday til 11am! We hate rushing down to catch... more

The location is very very good. It is beside trains and buses and at the edge of the old town.Got a room at the back of the hotel after reading previous reviews. No view but no noise either.Single rooms are small and there is no shower just a wet room so be careful. Bed was so comfortable.Breakfast is ok with... more

The 4 star Hotel Metropole has a fantastic location in the edge of old town near plenty of sights and shopping. It is also very handy for transport, because it is only a short walk to trains, buses and trams. The location however has its downsides as well, because on the street side the rooms have traffic noise and on... more

This hotel is part of a Swedish chain and offers a great base at the south part of Old town Riga for exploring the rest of the city which is achievable on foot. The quality of the rooms is good and are well appointed.Buffet style contintental breakfast and the clientele appeared to be mostly business types. Other reviewers said this... more

The Metropole is a 4-star hotel located in the centre of Riga just on the edge of the Old Town. We arrived at the hotel shortly before midnight. First impressions were good - impressively lit exterior and a clean and uncluttered lobby. Check-in was straight-forward and we were given our room keys, a number of vouchers offering discounts in the... more
