As the subject says, you can't expect the world from a 3 star hotel. We had breakfast included, which was okay, they had something for everyone. There is certainly worse in the world. What we did not at all like is that there was a very strong sewer smell coming from our bathroom. Coming back into the room after a... More

I have stayed at the A1 again in April 2015, I really do like this hotel, the wi-fi was up and working in the bedrooms. Food and service was great , kept awake 2 nights till after 3am with a billiard bar playing music but i survived. Staff here really try their best to help, especially Evia at the reception.... More

The A1 hotel itself is small and cozy. It's inexpensive, but good value for money as it is clean and charming. The rooms are smallish but cozy. The stairs and stairways are quite old, and not as well maintained as the rest of the place. Also, there is no elevator, so if you don't feel like dragging your heavy luggage... More

A comfortable room (cleaned daily), a very good bathroom with modern equipment and hairdryer, a good diverse breakfast (buffet). Very good location, spectacularly looking St. Gertrude Old Church is in 10 minutes walk, and the Old Town in merely 15-20 minutes walk away. Also, a Lido restaurant is in the next building and a Rimi supermarket is on the next... More

First off.... THIS IS NOT A 5STAR HOTEL... if you want 5 Star go to the Raddison and pay 5 Star prices..... The A1 is one of the cheapest places to stay in Riga. Its rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable. the breakfast is pretty much the same as most others in this price bracket. breads/scrambles eggs/sausage/cheese/meats/tomatoes/cucumber and cereals... Hotel staff was really nice and kind. Room was clean, cosy. Old stairs and towels. Bed was really large and comfortable. Breakfast good, but poor. This hotel is really good for one night. Close to old city, good price. There was a really good wifi.

The location is good, like 10 minutes to get to shops, bars, railway station.. Hotel was simple, rooms was clean and maked up every day. Sometimes there was problems closing doors and lock those. Breakfast was simple too, not many variety of food. Staff was kindly and helpful.

Located about 3/4 of a mile from the centre it was a job to find as the entrance to the hotel is not even in the street that is in its address-it is round the corner!! Strange. Then you walk through a tunnel to get to the entrance. Unfortunately probably due to the unusual layout of the hotel there is... More

Overall we had a pleasant stay here during our trip to Riga. The rooms were very good. Clean, spacious, air conditioning provided at no extra charge so thumbs up there. We were sharing a triple room for three nights and it worked out at about £50 each in total for three of us, so very good value. However, some of... More

We stayed at A1 for 3 days at the start of September. We chose the hotel based in part on the great TA reviews and we weren't disappointed. The stay from start to finish was great - friendly, efficient and helpful staff and a really spacious room. The free breakfast were a nice add on and made the stay really... More
