I was in Viru hotel this past April. The hotel is nice and rooms were clean. We got an offer of 75 eur the double room with breakfast. I found this to be great value! The breakfast was quite nice as well. It is not the nicest of the hotels in Tallinn, but the location and the overall value for... more

I have been here couple of time and its only getting better :) This hotel is in a perfect location by the shopping mall and just a minute walk to the old city. I just avoid this hotel restaurant as the old city has much better to offer. Last time we took the suite with sauna and it was fantastic... more

Viru hotel was the first real hotel in Soviet Estonia and nearly the only place in 70's you could stay. Today Viru is Finnish owned good quality hotel in the best place in Tallinn downtown. Usually good room rates, especially weekends and combining ferry. more

The hotel is well located, closed to the old town, and generally ok (we only stayed one night), but I found the stairs were locked to customers, there is only access to lifts (you need your room card), and it is quite a high building, I think we were in floor 18th. If it happens to be a fire, lots... more

I had heard some stories about Viru hotel and it's profile as a place to go when your holiday's sole intention is to get drunk and prostitutes' services. However, I assumed that this was something that happened in 70s or 80s. Had no idea how bad it would be even these days. I was travelling with a friend and her... more

Stayed for a couple of days in Tallinn: the Viru's location is good as not too far from the airport, not too far from the city center. The hotel is pretty large. At arrival the desk staff suggested an upgrade to a better room for 20EUR which was a fair price. The room was then a business class one, high... more

We just had a long weekend in Tallinn (Thursday to Sunday ) to attend a freinds wedding and this hotel was the one chosen for us by the wedding party. Overall an Ok hotel - it was quite busy all the time we were there but check in and ameneties were well served. There are 2 main bars and 2... more

Visited for one night as part of a tour. The location is great, just across from the entrance to the old town. The hotel was the first modern hotel built during the communist era, and it has been refurnished recently. My room was very modern and clean, with comfortable furnishings, including a fridge and safe. The hotel is connected to... more

We were only in Tallinn for one night, and chose this Hotel for its location to the Old Town. It is a quick taxi ride from the airport, a five-minute stroll (albeit across a rather hectic main road) to the enchanting Old Town, and even less to the shops of the New Town (check out the shopping centre accessible via... more

Our standard twin room was nice enough, even though it did seem rather dated. We asked for (and got) a non-smoking room on one of the highest floors, and our room had a beautiful view of the Old Town. Rooms on the lower floors can be quite noisy, as the hotel is on a rather busy street - there's also... more
