I've spent 2 nights in this hotel being on business trip. Location is excellent - near the Old City and 5 mins. from the port (Passenger Terminal and Marina). Hotel was overcrouded with tourists, but i checked-in very quickly. Breakfast is good enough. Room very clean and comfortable. Will stay there on my next trip.

Stayed here for 5 nights around New Years Eve 2013. Had to wait a little at check-in at 2.p.m.,but know that from earlier reviews here on TA so not surprised. And no problems at check-in. Had a standard room , big enough(12 sqauremeters) for a single traveller with a good bed, TV, and a view of the city and a... More

It's a great hotel or should I say hotels, as it's really two tower (23 floors each) that are connected with open air bridges on each floor (which also conveniently serve as smoking balconies). They also have two receptions in the loby so take care to go to the correct one. Hotel is very clean, the staff is helpfull and... More

Small small small... Very small room! Nice, comfortable and apparently clean. Good location and infrastructure with de shopping mall inside! A bit messy but maybe it's the season, with lots of groups and confusing time for the breakfast.

The first time I stayed in this hotel was in the early 1980s. I have always like the location, close to Old Town and the lovely view of the city or the harbour. Rooms are rather standard and somewhat small. It is not a hotel to write home about but its Soviet past is interesting!

This is a good hotel, and if you happen to get a room from the higher floor with a view to the harbor side, it gets even better. The view is simply gorgeous! I've stayed here three (almost) problem-free times. One time the sauna of the room didn't work. I must say it did require a bit too much convincing... More

As Viru was built in soviet times to be a prestigious (and only) hotel for foreigners, the hotel has kept it's top floor as a museum, showing visitors what could and could not be done right under the nose of the KGB eavesdropping HQ. Entrance fee is charged but it's worth it. The tour lasts about one hour and shows/tells... More

Viru is a very traditional Estonian hotel that is now managed by Sokos. The building stands our from the surroundings and the views from the higher floors are very nice. We had a junior suite with a sauna, which was overall pretty nice but not very high-class. The hotel could use some freshening up.

this is a part of the Sokos chain mostly located in Finland, but they have one hotel in Estonia. good location - very close to the Viru gates (old town) - in walking distance to the center. breakfast is located in a very big hall so you have to walk much from the buffet to the place where you would... Hotel is located near the harbour ja old town of Tallinn. There is also big shopping center close to the hotel. Most of the rooms have very nice view to the city or sea. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Hotel has also interesting history. It was built in a time when Estonia was a part of Soviet Union. There... More
