Gidic Backpackers was a wonderful place to stay! The staff was great and so were the people. If I ever come back to Estonia I would stay here again! The rooms were huge and they have cave like beds with curtains that feel very private and safe! There are also outlets in each bunk! The shower/bathroom was big and clean!... More

Although it is located a bit far from the Old Town, Gidic is still a good and safe hostel to stay during your trip. The staff was very helpful and speak English really well. Friendly atmosphere. The bathroom was ok- not so good. In general a nice hostel :).

Bad choice ! Staff is not friendly, dirty place to stay, filthy toilets. We checked in early and went to town to meat our friends. Those friends booked a room for us in another hotel. We didn't know so that was a surprise for us. We came back to this "hotel" to tell them and we suggested a refund of... More

The house may be old and a little creaky but it's a great place with a huge common area and social atmosphere. It's a good place to make some friends for the road. Extremely helpful staff as well, even at 2 in the morning. Decent location, close enough to old town.

The owner Fred is very knowledgeable and friendly. He provided us with an introduction of the city and highlighted some key attractions in Old Town. The hostel was clean. The area was safe at night. We had a very enjoyable stay in Tallinn for a very affordable price.

First impression may be a little weird - this hostel is located in old, wooden building. But don't be afraid - inside you'll find very cosy atmosphere, friendly staff (remember to talk with Australian host - he will give a short introduction to this lovely city and point you best places to visit and eat) and clean, comfortable rooms. There... More

I spent two nights there on April 2013. Location was good, you could either walk to the old town for 15 min or take a tram. Its also 15 min walk to the bus station. The stuff were very helpful and friendly. Specially Heidi, i can not thank her enough. I would stay there if i ever visit Riga again.

Hostel was toasty warm when it was in the minus figures outside, bathrooms were spotless and so was the bedding. The breakfast is good for 2 euro. The staff were also friendly and helpful, told us the best places to go in town. The area was safe at night, me and my friend walked back from the old town at... More

Gidic is just great! The staff are the nicest I have ever had at a hostel, the owner is a lovely guy too! Its just a short 10 minutes walk from the old town, and the area did not feel unsafe to me at all, even as a single female traveller walking at night. A supermarket is a minute away,... More

The hostel is located a 10-15 min walk from the old city centre - that's if you do not follow the hostel's directions, which seem to feature the longest and least attractive route! The first impression is a bit daunting; the building is located near a busy intersection and surrounded by various dubious établissements e.g. 'Club Virgin'. Once you get... More
