We loved the interiors, the exteriors, the quietness of the place, basically everything. We stayed in a room on the top floor with sloped roof and it was quite charming. I love the way they have renovated the place to turn it into a hotel.

Wonderful hotel adjacent to the pilgrimage site right in the heart if the city. You can hear beautiful music from the cathedral in the morning from some of the rooms if your window is open. Or, close your windows and be in comfortable air conditioning if you like. On the top floor the rooms have stone arches in them and... More

This is a very basic hotel, it located in old town, lost of place to shop and eat. there is a park for the kids about 1/2 mile away, not a hard all flat. Nice rooms, no extras, a/c, mini bar. free wifi not network password protected.

If you are a traveller who needs all the amenities and comforts when staying at a hotel, do not go to Domus Maria. If, on the other hand, you enjoy the atmosphere, the location, the building itself and do not need all the comforts, go and you will not regret it. Domus Maria is a restored monastery. The room I... Spent a couple of nights here. Great location, close to all of the sites and restaurants of the Old Town. Our room was very clean with a comfy bed, wifi, but would have benefitted from having a kettle! The staff were very helpful and even checked us in, 'on line', for the flight home. The breakfast was fair, compared to... More

Hotel Domus Maria is conveniently located in old town and you can both walk to the sights as well as take the train or a bus. We were upgraded without any charge from a standard double room to a deluxe double room which was really spacious. Although we didn’t use it there was parking space available. Breakfast had the basics.... More

Here's the quick hit, 10 being best: cleanliness & comfort=6, location=9, staff friendliness=7.5, local knowledge=7.5, overall value=7. Room was small with twin beds (mine was pretty lumpy), a dormer window and a low, slanting ceiling (ouch). The property is a converted monastery, we were on the 4th floor. The elevator made life good. Breakfast was a help yourself. Location is... More

If you've always wanted to spend time in a convent but never had the courage, or if you are a bloke, then here's a great opportunity. Lovely retorted buildings, ideally located for the old town and major sites. Staff first class and English v good. Go for a larger room - think the extra is well worthwhile.

This hotel was booked for us by a good friend who has stayed there many times. It is an old monastery, built in the early 1600s and it still retains much of that quality. The rooms are comfortable and clean but relatively Spartan. There is free Wi-Fi and free parking (important in the middle of old-town). The location is perfect,... More

Only stayed a night here. A friend booked in and I didn't really have a choice. Initially I wasn't impressed after they quoted a rate, lifted the rate when I tried to book within 12 hours, then told me they had no doubles. When I got one through Kayak, they charged me the single rate and stuck me in a... More
