We went there only for one night. The hotel was actually great, everything put together. A central location, a bed, a bathroom, good pizza place next to the hotel. What more to expect! First there is a "Metropolis" building with large sign on in main street on corner of same street the hotel is in "THIS IS CLOSED" but about 50metres away is the hotel. This hotel was our second stop during our journey through baltic states (with a travel agency). Check-in was relativ fast. The way to our room was very complicated...we must take 2 different (very small) elevators, after that go by foot to next floor... Well. The first time I stayed in a hotel i got a room for one, it was quit small, but tidy and warm. I have just returned from a weekend break at the Hotel Metropolis Kaunad, and do not understand why people have given this such bad reviewa one person showed a photo of a corridor with beds matresses etc, we looked and could not find amnything like it the corridors were wide no obstacles where that person got that photo I do... more

Loved the place. it was a bargain and had a really quirky feel. admittedly it's not modern and stylish but that's it's charm. it had local character, centrally located and definately value for money. more

by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. there was no hot water and no central heating and we arrived during the freezing autumn. staff were not helpful! the only bright side was the semi decent breakfast. more
