Fantastic hotel. We got an entite apartment, with full bathroom, kitchen, livingroom and a bedroom. The decor is lovely. The location in the heart of the old town is on the money! We love it! The hotel has a lovely court yard with a small restaurant. I will be back!

We spent two nights at the Michalska Brana a couple of years ago and at the time thought it was one of the best quality and value hotels that we'd ever stayed at. So we naturally booked in again for a recent brief stopover when were passing through Bratislava last month - and while we didn't get the upgrade to... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Michalska Brana. The rooms are simple yet very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in the cost of our room, and it was tasty and plentiful. The hotel has a lovely garden area where we sampled some excellent local wines with our friends. Staff member Andrea was incredibly nice and recommended an outstanding... More

My friend and I were traveling from Vienna to Brno, Czech Republic, in mid May and decided to change up our plans a bit and stay a night in Bratislava. We were really glad we did, both because of how surprisingly charming the city is and because Hotel Michalska Brana was so pleasant. In fact, it ended up being one... More

The location couldn't be better, right inside the old city but down a quiet alley. Right out of a story book setting but next to everything. The hotel is charming. The room had dormer windows was L-shaped and very functional. The breakfast room is very cool with its old shaped ceiling and poster like decor. There is a lovely outdoors... More

This accommodation was clean and included all amenities. It was in the old town which had it's pros and cons. Pros - close to everything in the old town - as it was on a very narrow street, it did not have outside restaurants/bars etc and so was very quiet. Cons - getting there with luggage on very irregular cobbles.... More

We spent three night in this small, but lovely hotel. Clean rooms, great amenities, a generous breakfast, and the helpful, English-speaking staff made our stay there a pleasure. You are right in the Old Town and within walking distance of the sights, restaurants, etc. A charming hotel in a charming part of Bratislava !

Our best three star yet. Ask for room 14 - nice cross breeze. Breakfast is generous and they have a great private patio. Best shower too. Hot and pressure. Friendly English speaking service. An undiscovered gem in an underrated city!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Michalska Brana is located in a very quiet street of the pedestrian zone of the Old Town, Bastova Street 4. Bastova Street is considered to be the narrowest and most romantic street of Bratislava. Street itself tells many stories. It was built in 13th and 14th century and in medieval age and for centuries it used to be famous for being a home of the city hangman. His house was demolished and replaced with a new baroque building in the middle of 18th century right facing the property of our hotel. Hotel Michalska Brana is neighboring to majority of embassies and also therefore our location is very safe. All sights on hand - we are only a 1 minute walk to nearby Saint Michael’s Gate, cafe and entertainment Michalska Street or medieval Kapucinska Street, just about a 5 minute walk to the Opera or Presidential Palace. The nearby Bratislava Castle you can reach in 20 minute walk, which is a time you need to get to Danube River too. ... more   less
