You have to be a young, budget-oriented person to enjoy this place. While it is in the ped zone, which is nice, that means you have to drag your luggage a substancial distance to get to the hotel in the first place, no taxi can drop you off. Then you need to climb numerous stair cases. You also have to... More

The hotel IS very central and convenient for walking around BUT they lied on the description, advertising "free parking". They don't have any parking at all as the hotel is in the centre of a pedestrian area, so you can't even drive to it to drop off bags. On finally getting to the hotel (by coasting through the centre on... More

After reading the reviews on here ..I must admit I was apprehensive. First impressions though are perfect location! Right in the heart of the old town. There are around 80 steps to climb up to the reception, (who was very friendly and helpful) but its worth it for the views of the town from our tidy/clean and modern room 8.... More

Stayed here as a group of 5 people in two separate rooms during European travels in June 2015. The location is really great, probably one of the best. It is right in the heart of the old town in Bratislava. This is if you don't count the massive amount of stairs to actually get up to the reception area, not... More

Do not believe the hotel description. The reception is 82 stairs up from the road. There is no lift. My room was an additional 20 stairs up. For people with luggage to carry, or for people who are not so fit, this is a disaster. And furthermore, the hotel description gave no indication and I feel deceived. The rooms are... More

This hotel is a hole in the wall, we almost walked past it when headed there from the train station! And there's a hefty number of stairs to climb (three floors, I believe) to get to the reception desk. The place isn't fancy, but it has some eastern european old-world charm to it, I suppose. Our bed was actually two... More

Nice big room in the heart of the city center, close to attractions and restaurants and shops. A little bit of noise during night time but in the end it was a very good deal. I would recommend this hotel if you want to have fun in bratislava at a quite low price. P.S.: I appreciated that they charge me... More

The old city hotel has a great location in the old city. Pubs and restaurants all over the place. Just a couple of minutes walking to the city centre. No breakfast when we stayed there, but WiFi is there. Staff didn't speak English, but we somehow got by.

I would recommend Bratislava for a short break to anyone wanting to go somewhere a little different. Slovakia is an interesting country with a great history and beautiful scenery in the east, but it is not always going to be an easy trip. Getting into the centre of Bratislava from the airport for example, was not plain sailing for us... More
