We had the double room (Room #1), upon arrival the bathroom was not cleaned, the day after it was solved at the morning cleaning. The bed was a bit inconsequent, two matresses for a double bed are okay, but the wooden divider between them are NOT. Watch out for the space between! Room was equipped only with a TV and... More

This hotel is very well located in the heart of the old city of Pecs, right beside the mosque and pedestrianized inner city. The architecture of the building is quirky with some novel interior features in wrought ironwork and wooden panels and fittings. There is no lift and quite an adventure going up and down stairs to reach the central... More

Friendly and very good value for money An old building with lots of steps very close to the main square. The rooms were small but well provided with storage space. Breakfasts were simple: fruit juice, cereals, omelettes, bread rolls coffee tea etc. Most of us were taking part in The World Masters Orienteering Championships and the hotel was really helpful... The hotel is old, in need of renovation. it does have the basic amenities, yet the two star rating based solely on the fact that there is a tv set and a phone in the room. I found the level of privacy completely unsatisfactory - no soundproofing, narrow corridors in addition to the very small rooms amounted to a sleepless... More

My sister and I loved this place. It was very clean, relaxed, friendly service. Breakfast is made hot to order just for you. It is a basic hotel but do to the location and cost, it was perfect

I found this place excellent in every way. It has an extremely central location, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are super-clean, and then price includes a good breakfast. Lonely Planet seems upset about the odd angles in the rooms, but I think that just adds to the charm of it. This is a fairly no-frills place... More

I found very convenient because it is cheap and located in the city centre. I had a confortable stay, moreover I've stayed in a double room at the same price of a single room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was ok, the only problem was that the curtain did not cover all the window, so the sun... More

The hotel is located a few streets to Szechenyi ter (Main Square) and the Gazi Kaszim Basha's Mosque. Also, it's within walking distance of maybe 5-10 minutes to St. Peter's Cathedral, Cella Septichora (4th Century early Christian graveyard), National Theatre and the Zsolnay ceramics museum. Breakfast is good but there's an extra charge for cappuccino. You get what you pay... More

Stayed just the one night at the Hotel Fonix but it was a very nice hotel. The place gets a bit of a bagging from Lonely Planet books but is much better than they make out. Its central location make it good for exploring the town and there are plenty of eating and drinking places all within easy walking distance.... More

Staff here are great. Really friendly. However, the hotel seems to be geared towards conference and seemed surprised that we had booked there for 7 nights. Hotel is nice and free internet is brilliant. Breakfasts are nice too but they enquire to your whereabouts if you choose not to go! The only problems we had were that the sheets didn't... More
