Our Hungarian friends booked us there for four nights. Walking distance to center city. Clean with good service. Breakfast buffet is full and included. More than enuf to keep you going into afternoon. Air conditioned and individually controlled. Fine three start hotel at value prices. As American visitors to Pecs we found it a nice location to enjoy this lovely... More

Stayed in this hotel during a conference trip to Pecs in 2010. It just so happened that Pecs was hosting the European capital of culture that year so that was an added bonus. Pecs was a pleasant surprise: modern, clean, the old city centre beautifully resotred. The same goes for this hotel - a small gem just out of the... More

Barbakan Hotel lies at the North East side of the city centre, within 5 minutes you are standing at the UNESCO 4th Century Christian graves! The rooms are clean, have German style furniture and neat. We slept with our two kids in the family room at the top of the building. Only negative point is that the sheets are too... More

This hotel is very good for a 3-star hotel. The hotel is relatively new and the rooms are quite good. The only thing that could be better is the breakfast, which should be more diverse. The location is very good, very near the city center.

This 3-star hotel is a very good 3-star option in rural Hungary. The rooms are large, have air-conditioning (vital in Summer), and freshly renovated bathrooms. The beds are comfy, although they are all singles - so no double or king-sized beds. Strangely, they seem to have purchased sheets that don't fully fit the beds and the pillows are horrible. Breakfast... More

We arrived in Pecs from Romania in the early evening and our sat-nav found the Barbakan for us. First impressions were that it looked quite small and very well kept - this was confirmed at the reception which was also small and very well kept! The receptionist had very basic English and of course we couldn't speak Hungarian, but we... More
