The hotel primarily selling holiday rights, slightly run-down apartments, but 1-2 nights you can survive. 4 person apartment, but really only enough for two. The sofa-bed, old, in our room it was torn down. The breakfast is terrible, cheap raw materials compiled menu with the undrinkable coffee. the staff are helpful. Very cheap.

This was the second part of our summer holiday. We stayed in Budapest for a couple of days (first much better)! We travelled down by train, what a nightmare. Told the hotel was in walking distance from the station we set off walking (it was 38 degs) so seemed a long way) We'd booked for 2 weeks( apparently unusual) and... More

We stayed here in the middle of September in the Z building. The apartment, on the first floor, was basic and clean. The furniture was not comfortable and the lighting was very poor. We did not intend cooking so the kitchen was adequate. We used the wifi in the reception but we did not visit the pool. The restaurant attached... More

Club Abbazia has up to 10 properties with the main reception on Erzsebet Kiralnye Utja (Utca: Road) and we stayed in the hotel on Rakoczi Ferenc utca, which also happens to be one of the main throughfare of the town. Keszthely also happens ot be the largest town and capital of the area on Lake Ballaton, largest lake in Europe.... More

We stayed in an annex building of the hotel (the Silver building). Absolutely no staff is available there, except for the cleaners. Although the building has an underground parking garage, actually getting in there is a nightmare: One first has to get the room keys at the main building. Then one should drive to the market place to buy the... More

location in Kezsthely is excellent, reception staff speaks enough english to get things clear. Otherwise, average and decent. Kitchen equipment are inadequate and poor quality. Pool in the E building is small and shallow. Price for extra bed was too high compared to hungarian price level (3000 ft/night)

Having stayed in hundreds of different RCI affiliated resorts in North America and Europe, this was by far one of the best we've ever stayed in anywhere! And it was a much higher standard than any we've encountered in Eastern Europe. Perhaps disappointed reviewers stayed in a different building than we did, but building Z, the one closest to the... The unique point of difference with Club Abbazia at Keszthely is that the original and delightful streetscape is preserved (ie shady trees, roses in full bloom, older european style apartments). The accommodation is NOT a high rise international style hotel, and NOT a sprawling resort with manicured grounds and heaps of leisure facilities. It IS six original and quite separate... More

I will probably come off as a spoiled American but if you are like me, continue to read. Do NOT believe any of the photos provided by this hotel. I felt like we had gone back to the Iron Curtain era. The unit was painted white with gray-green furnishings. The furniture and appliances were old. Toilet paper was the only... More

We had a great apartment within a short walk to the really lovely lake where you can walk and boat ride. It was very nice albeit different but the ants on the floor were just horrible. Nothing could be put down. UGH! This is a great area to traveling to Heviz and all around the Northern towns on Lake Balaton.... More
